What I learnt staying off Social Media for 4 days

I decided over the Easter weekend from the Thursday to the Tuesday I was going to delete all my social media and try and not be consumed by what was going on with everyone else and how the Easter bunny came…I know he’s not real cos if he was he would have delivered some to this chocoholic right here.

Don’t get me wrong I love being on social media as you connect with so many amazing people that lift you up and make you smile even on them shitty days.

I did find though that I was itching to go on my blogging instagram as seeing all their posts inspire me very much…but I resisted.

I was missing out on some amazing twitter chats and seeing what other people had put on their blogs as that’s mainly where I find peoples blogs who don’t have WordPress.

I really didn’t miss Facebook as I find that of late it’s lost its appeal and you can never go past one day without someone bitching about someone else…discuss that stuff in private not with the whole of your friends list.

Snapchat is probably the one where you don’t miss it if you don’t know what’s been posted…Mainly on mine people just post stories. I’m pretty sure there will be plenty more stories.

HOWEVER…

I just couldn’t stay away from Pinterest I had to keep myself sane by pinning all the ideas I came across and when I couldn’t sleep Pinterest was there for me as always.

I learnt that life still goes on whether you are on social media or not and it’ll probably be exactly the same when you go back to it.

  1. That’s a really good idea. I don’t do much social media these days, other than blogging and Bloglovin’, but I definitely used to. It always feels good to step away from it. It gives you a fresh perspective on the situation 🙂
