In my year and a half of blogging, i have used umpteen apps to make things a little easier for me whilst blogging on the go.
Here are the ones I have currently on my iPhone that I use pretty much every day and just thought if you didn’t use them already I am giving you the heads up.
Here are my 12 most used apps for Blogging
If you have to stick to a deadline or can only do a bit of blogging/ planning for a small amount of time then using 30/30 will keep you in check – it’s relatively easy to use and you can add as many things you need to do on it.
The things you can do with this app are endless. On OneNote you can have sections for each topic of your blog and then pages for each post. You can make notes, add pictures, bullet points, highlight and if you have a stylus pen you can draw too. I even put links in there too that I want to include on my blog.
The first one is Follow+ which is for Instagram. I don’t know about you but its the most annoying thing when you are being a loyal follower and liking this followers posts only to realise they have unfollowed you ages ago. This app you can see whos being a sneaky bugger. The same goes for Tweet Sponge, at the moment on there you can only unfollow so if you needed to block anyone for any known reason then you’d need to go to their twitter page and do it manually. Both of these are worth having.
The 3 apps I use for my images and photo editing are Snapseed, Canva and Pic Collage. Snapseed is great for sorting out the filters/tones/effects of your photo to make it look a bit different from the original. Canva is great for making Thumbnails, headers, business letter headers, whatever you like it has a wide range of designs you can design. i love it. Pic collage you can use that as you wish whether its to make a collage, make a wishlist, design logos, whatever you fancy.
StumbleUpon and Pocket are really quite powerful when you figure out how to use them to their best advantage. I have had stumbleupon for years but it just used to stay in a folder on my phone and was neglected. I now use it to add my most recent blog post and also to look for inspiration. it is great if you want to get traffic for your blog from other places other than just your social platforms. Pocket is a newbie for me but I have used it daily since. You can save any blog post or link that you see and can’t read it there and then and it saves it into a folder and you can then go and read it when you do have the time.
WordPress is the platform I use for my blog and where all the hours are spent planning what content I am going to put where and when and giving it tweaks here and there. Blogger was the first platform I tried a fair few years ago but my heart has always been with WordPress. Bloglovin’ is the app to look at all your friends blogs no matter which blogging platform they use. I really do need to use it more regularly. Once or twice a week is not good enough.
Lastly is Influenster, the app that if you put in the effort and review products on their site. Fill out the questionnaires and join in on discussions then the people at Influenster will see that you interact on the app and will send you things free to review on your social media in the form of VoxBoxes. You will need to input all your stats on there from each social media platform they ask. This will help a little in possibly being considered for a VoxBox. I have had it two months and had my first box a few weeks ago. So don’t give up in the first week or two.
There you go, those are the apps that I enjoy using as a blogger. Go have a look on the app store and see what catches your eye other than these. There are probably ones I haven’t come across that are fab too.
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you in my next post
