Monthly favourites – MAY

It’s the last day of May today, summer is finally upon us.

I always bring you a monthly favourites so here is this months

My Favourite song – Lola by The Kinks

This song is an old love. It’s been on a few Spotify playlists so a good excuse to listen to it and sing along slightly out of tune too. I said to my mum years ago if I could change my name from Holly I would choose Lola. I think it’s quirky and different.

App of the Month – Colour Checker / Asana

I like to make To Do Lists and then tick as I go. Sometimes my iPad/phone is nearer to me than a notepad so it’s easier to make my lists there.

Both of these are great apps. The colour checker is a simple one you can colour code your goal/ chore / thing to complete. Asana you can break things down and even delegate to others if you add their email to your app account. I find this one helpful if I have bullet points for my blog posts and pics to not quite put on here quite yet. Think a blogger would benefit from either of these.

Quote of the month –

No matter what things you go through in life, there will be happier times and this quote will give you comfort in knowing that. Got to love a quote with a positive message.

Favourite Tech bits

My MPOW wireless headphones I’ve had a while. I really do love shutting out the world and listen to my music, watch a film or a YouTube video at the end of the day these are perfect if you can’t afford beats or can’t justify spending over 100 pounds on headphones.

I have never had an all singing all dancing printer. The two I’ve had before were meant to be wireless but have ended up not connecting and then the paper getting stuck. So mum treated us to this one the HP Envy 5032. It is touch screen, so even mum can understand how to use it. There’s this instant ink too that you get 13 months free then only £1.99 a month for 50 prints which is perfect for me as I don’t print out loads.

Think that’s a long enough post, don’t want you nodding off.

June, I’m ready for you.

Hope you’ve had a fab May.

See you in my next post

Love is love

I truly believe that the heart chooses whoever it beats fast for, the one person who makes you have butterflies that feels so magical you don’t want it to go.

Some people have fallen in love many times and some just this once but let me tell you this

from the age of let’s say 15 looked at love like this: It doesn’t matter what gender you fall for, it’s the person, their personality, the way you get when you’re around them.

You just know and I don’t think anyone should ever feel like they can’t be in love with someone because they are the same sex, or a different race or religion.

Love feels the same no matter who it’s with

This t-shirt is from boohoo just incase you fancy getting yourself one.

Stay true and be you ❤️

A little celebration

3 years ago I decided to embark on my blogging journey.

To be honest I wasn’t sure what I was going to write or if anyone was going to be interested in hearing what little me had to say.

❤️ Turns out I’ve shared my health problems and the ups and downs of them.

❤️ In turn that’s made me a more positive person and I love to share those positive vibes and help anyone out who’s feeling down as I’ve been there once upon a time.

❤️ I’m a right girly girl so of course there was going to be beauty and a bit of fashion thrown in for good measure.

❤️ If I have some tips to get you through everyday life of course I’m going to share. All have been tried and tested. I’d never tell you to try something I hadn’t already.

❤️ Love me a monthly favourite looking back at the month just been and what bits and pieces have made me smile.

❤️ Growing up I never loved myself so now I’m older I really urge anyone to love who they are and it doesn’t make you vain or stuck up. So you’ll find me always spreading the self love message.

Here are a few blog posts I thought I’d add in so you can have a nosey

Writing is my passion so having HOLZIELOVES is really an outlet for whatever comes into my head that I fancy sharing.

Much loves, you keep up your journeys too

Summer Memories from the past

How i love to look back on happy memories of the times i had. Today i thought i’d focus on the Summer since its sunny outside and Summer is nearly here.

So growing up on our estate there was more boys than girls, so we would try and fit in with the boys and play football or go on the skateboards. Until we fell over and hurt ourselves. Course i’d blame it on them. Why couldn’t they of done something a bit more girl friendly.

This is from one of my fave films ‘Now and Then’
So quotable

So i do remember spending my summers down by the river at the bottom of our local playing field. What bonehead thought that would be a great place for a playing field next to a river. A few kids had fell in over the years, luckily it wasn’t that deep. Our Parents were oblivious we were down there as it was out of bounds but that was the excitement of it.

As i got older i’d either be found with my friends on bike rides or scraping my knees in my roller skates.

This was one of the bikes i owned and i cried when i was too big for it, i guarded that with my life as Mum and Dad said it was a lot of money.

I was a girly girl and still am one. There’s no getting away from it that as i got to 13/14 we would spend our afternoons looking at the fitties at the tennis courts pretending to casually walk past and hanging out at the parks hoping to find our Mr right. He wasn’t gonna be at some run down park, but back then we were so naive.

Then in my late teens and early twenties it was big bottles of WKD before a night on the razz (piss) and a thick head most sunday mornings. The beer gardens were great for the hair of the dog on the sunday. But how life changes as soon as you decide to grow up.

This summer i am going to try and keep sunburnt free, just catch the odd freckle when the sun decides to kiss me.

Stay safe, have fun. til next time,

Be brave, be bold, be you

Today I braved a bare face and then thought I’d put my new bikini on and show my urostomy bag too.

OK its only just peeping over the top but I felt confident and thought I’d take the opportunity while it was there.

I want to also say: Embrace your beauty flaws and all. You only have one body so appreciate it very very much inside and out 😘

Sorry its only a short and sweet post.

We’ll have fun fun fun… In the sun ☀️

What does your Sunday look like…

Mine at the mo I’ve managed to get in and wash the mop, the dizziness is still there but I can get about a bit.

I’m now sat in the garden with the sun shining listening to ‘NOW 102’ on Spotify… Here’s the playlist if you wanna listen.

I’ve painted my nails a simple but different French manicure as you can see. Just fancied doing something other than plain colours.

I love the fact that I’ve got a summer dress on and it’s not even the middle of May yet. Not packed my woolys away yet cos knowing England we will need them again soon.

I’ll leave you with a summery quote to get you in the mood like me.

Happy Sunday

Straight out of the blue

Imagine turbulents at sea and how you’d feel …

This is how my Dr has explained to me what labrynthitis is… I have inflammation of the inner ear that causes your balance to be very distorted. I can’t move my head and if I try to look about the room feels like it’s spinning. So I’m literally confined to my bed and my head in one position until it passes.

Let’s hope it’s not too long a feeling. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone 😣
