8 pieces of wisdom for you

I like to think of myself as a wise owl spreading wisdom or sometimes I have learnt it from my Mum, shes wise old owl – ha ha.

So here are 8 pieces of wisdom I wish to share with you.

  1. Words are powerful, use them wisely
  2. People come and go, but the right ones stay
  3. You are doing enough even if it doesn’t feel like it
  4. Failure is when you don’t try
  5. Random acts of kindness make everyone feel better
  6. Live for today and not for tomorrow
  7. Never look back, there is nothing there for you.
  8. Overthinking kills happiness

This month sucked

I think most of us all over the world can say that March 2020 has been the worst.  There has been sadness and distress and disruption of some sort.

A pandemic in my 34 years hasn’t happened so it’s pretty new to me. I mean we had the bird flu/swine flu epidemic but we weren’t confined to our homes.

Normally I would be writing a monthly favourites. But to be frank…it’s just been about getting by and making sure we have enough food and loo roll to last us the week.

I have been staying in contact with friends and family through social media platforms and the power of video chat apps like messenger, FaceTime and WhatsApp.

Every single day I make sure I have one positive thought and I share it on a group I’ve set up on my personal Facebook page to get us through these trying times.

We don’t know how long this lockdown process will be. All we can do is keep ourselves safe and stay in touch.

MANY APOLOGIES IF MY BLOG HASN’T BEEN AS HELPFUL OR ENTERTAINING AS IT USUALLY IS. I PROMISE I WILL TRY TO MAKE IT BETTER THROUGH APRIL.

What a crazy ass week

All of you will feel the same when you think is this all a nightmare that we are going to wake up from?

First of all I was meant to see my stoma nurse at the hospital Tuesday but the transport didn’t arrive to pick me up. So that was a getting hyped up to go for nothing.

Then my mate and me were meant to meet up and go on a little shopping trip and that didn’t happen.

I did however manage to go speeding along on my electric wheelchair and go up town with mum at the start of the week. Nice to just nosey.

Then the closure of everywhere has taken effect over the last few days so everyone is either self isolating or being cautious when they are out.

All I know there are some greedy and selfish people out there when it comes to shopping for essentials that we need and aren’t there because of carelessness of some people.

Anyway sending love and hope you are all looking after each other.

A creative head

I am not going to be one of those going into meltdown over what’s happening in the world right now.

I am going to keep calm and carry on.

where do you like to do your writing/blogging?

Sometimes I can be found at my desk in my office feeling very much in my element

I also can be found with loads of notepads , bits of paper with ideas in the living room spread all over the floor. An organised mess.

Then again I feel creative at the most random of times so I could be sat watching TV, led in bed, or sometimes when I’m out and about.

Wherever you are, let your creativity come out. It’s something kind of special and shouldn’t just be pushed to one side.

I guess everyone is creative, but not everybody has the guts to take the bull by the horns and go with it.

Wednesday went like this

ITS WEDNESDAY MORNING

I slept pretty well which is a change. I’m usually one of those tossing and turning types. So waking up feeling rather fresh was nice. I thought what can I do with myself that doesn’t require going out the house.

I’m writing a book at the moment so I knew that I need to squeeze in an hour or two at some point today of sheer brain power. If you want something bad enough you will make time for it, I believe that.

So I’ve watched some interesting videos on YouTube, ones I’ve had in my watch later for a little while. Now they are watched I can fill it back up with more 😂

My Alexa at present is blasting out some quality tunes from Kisstory…if you aren’t from the UK Kisstory is a radio station dedicated to throwbacks. It’s bloody great to have your own karaoke day in the comfort of your own home.

Oooo look at that it’s midday…..it’s lunch time….I’ll be back in a bit

Wow who knew cous cous and tuna tasted so good together.

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

I am really digging my nail varnishes I picked up from Superdrug so I’m just gonna take off and refresh. They are by Revolution. Even better they are on offer 3 for 2. Also I heard that Revolution are coming to Boots which is the best cos I have a boots nearly on my doorstep.

My thumbnail has caught in the quick, which for us girls with natural nails is ouchy. Not only that when i pluck up the courage to pull it I’ll have to cut all my nails down so I don’t look like an oddington

The weather is so pants here, so it’s nice to listen to the rain from the inside. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to take 15 mins to meditate/chill the fook out. I don’t sit in a funny position, I find somewhere where it’s clutter free and nobody else is there.

It really helps my anxiety levels to do this as it’s just concentrating on the here and now and doing controlled breathing. I will do a post on this soon, many of you will be able to benefit from it…even if you don’t suffer from anxiety that much.

Now that’s done I can grab my notepad and start brainstorming….

I have blog posts to plan, a list to make of things I want to buy to jazz my room up a bit, a few places I want to visit and want to do more research, and obviously my book writing. So me and my notepad will be best friends for the rest of the afternoon, oh and good old google…actually, I’m older than google 😯

I intend to hopefully have a earlyish night tonight but i bet as soon as my head hits the pillow I’ll be wide awake. Always the way isn’t it.

Anyway, that was my Wednesday? Hope yours was good too.

Improving you #1

You are under no obligation to be the same person you were

A year ago, a month ago, or even 15 mins ago.

you have the right to grow.

No apologies.

I believe that if you just stay in one place doing the same boring thing day in day out you won’t change, it’s pretty obvious.

Self-improvement is such a great thing to do and its so easy. you can do as little of it or as much of it as you like.

My advice is to do a little each day and don’t let anybody or anything get in your way. Set yourself goals along the way and reward yourself with whatever you like once you’ve smashed them.

I’ll be doing some more self-improvement posts over the month of March. So keep your peepers open to when I’ve posted them on here.

Hope your week is off to a great start and if it’s not, then make sure you change it.
