Fierce Female Friday

For a month on a Friday I am going to be featuring some awesome women on a little series called fierce female Friday…

I thought I’d start off with me..

1. What makes you feel powerful?

Being able to have my own mind, create my own happiness, and wear what the hell I like. Being unique/one of a kind.

2. What 3 strong women do you look up to?

My mum of course, she takes everything in her stride. She has to put up with me too ha ha.

Stacey Solomon, she has worked so very hard to get to where she is today. She’s an inspiration. If you don’t follow her Instagram you really should.

My hospital nurse Rachel, who’s been through all my surgeries with me and helped me in between. She works so hard and is passionate about her job. She’s one in a million.

3. What advice would you give to someone needing to find their inner fierceness?

Stand up and be counted, never let anyone quieten you. Don’t let anything keep you down for too long. Life is for being the best version of you so go out there and kick some ass….not literally 🙈

Please look out for next week’s fierce female.

Lots of love, have an awesome weekend xxx

Nyxie from Nyxies Nook

I’m a mental health blogger who focuses on eating disorder recovery, depression, anxiety and general wellness of the self. The blog was started in March 2019 in a bid to raise awareness for mental illness such as Anorexia Nervosa and Anxiety, two such disorders I suffer from. However, what started out as a hobby, quickly turned into something much, much more!

Nyxie’s Nook has become a place to talk about all mental health issues and the struggles that come along with recovery. I cover a variety of subjects ranging from general wellness right up to more specific recovery-related content. I not only aim to cater to those in recovery but to people in all walks of life.

You can’t help it

I want you all to really digest this…

You can’t help who you are as a person, what choices you want to persue in life – whether it’s your career or something else. It’s whatever your heart tells you to follow.

You can’t help who you fall for, whether it’s the opposite sex or the same sex, religion or race.

You can help by being happy with what your heart or head has chosen for you.

Keep being you and staying true.

❤️

Love is love

I truly believe that the heart chooses whoever it beats fast for, the one person who makes you have butterflies that feels so magical you don’t want it to go.

Some people have fallen in love many times and some just this once but let me tell you this

from the age of let’s say 15 looked at love like this: It doesn’t matter what gender you fall for, it’s the person, their personality, the way you get when you’re around them.

You just know and I don’t think anyone should ever feel like they can’t be in love with someone because they are the same sex, or a different race or religion.

Love feels the same no matter who it’s with

This t-shirt is from boohoo just incase you fancy getting yourself one.

Stay true and be you ❤️

Being Bisexual is not a phase your going through

These colours are what represents the bisexual community. Its something i have always been up for chatting about and finding out more about.

From my recent posts you can see i am most definately into men and i have only ever been in relationships with men.

From about 14 years old i knew that i was also attracted to women. But if i had to say back then i was bisexual i didn’t know what it properly meant and you definitely would have been picked on. Shame on people who just didn’t get it. I was already having the worst time being bullied because of my spotty skin so i just kept it under cover.

Being bi you don’t have to of had sex with a woman, to of even kissed a woman. The attraction that you feel for a man, you get for a woman too.

LETS ALSO GET THIS STRAIGHT ( excuse the pun)

You don’t instantly fancy every woman and man you see. In fact i generally don’t even know the women i find attractive. You can be in a relationship with a man and still be bi you aren’t automatically straight and vice versa.

Sexual orientation shouldn’t have to be labelled these days and also when you say i think I’m bi, people say oh its just a phase…is being straight a phase too then?

Be who you want to be and love who you want to love too.

Glad to of got that off my chest.

A little fundraiser

Me and my lovely Mum have come to the same conclusion that my self-propelled wheelchair is not helping either of us… Mum finds it hard to push me as she’s only 4ft 11, she’s no spring chicken and I’m 10 stone…My arms play up too which then I can’t help propel. The most sensible thing is to get a powerchair so I can be more independent.

That’s what I’m looking to get. It’s not cheap and we aren’t rich so I’ve set up a page today.

HOLLYS JUST GIVING PAGE

I’d be so grateful if you could spare any pennies to help me get about a bit better. No pressure though.

Much loves and I’ll say thank you in advance.

See you in my next post xxx

Life with these 5 types would never be boring

I believe you need these 5 types of people in your life to have it kind of balanced and with a bit of variety.

The Inspired

Someone who you look up to for what they do and would love to do that for the greater good and for themselves . They make you go yes I want that. They spur you on without them actually knowing. They are admired from afar.

The Passionate

Someone who is really into something and puts their absolute all into making it as perfect as they can. This is done with love as well as effort because they are so passionate about it. They generally give out a real positive aura. They are just lovely people to be around.

The Motivated

Someone who wakes up in the morning with their goals set and their aim is high. They want to smash each and every one of their goals. Then when they are completed, a new list begins. They thrive on being kept busy and love a challenge. Motivational people are great at helping others other than just themselves.

The Grateful

Someone who has a big heart sees the beauty in most things and appreciates the small things as much as the big. They don’t ask for much in life, just happiness and that warm feeling from something or somebody.

The Open Minded

Someone that doesn’t really judge. Who has time for peoples opinions and won’t frown upon them if they are a little bit different. Who you can have a conversation with about something random and the won’t look at you like you have two heads.

Life would never be boring, each and every one would be different and see life in different perspectives.

I’m pretty sure if you look amongst your friends, you will find all five. If you don’t go out and look for them. Live a fruitful life.

Thanks for stopping by

Til next time…
