Clinique Chubby Sticks

I actually went out yesterday shopping what felt like the first time in forever. I guess because we have such luxuries as online shopping the high street sometimes gets neglected.

So we happened to stumble into this makeup store and I was only nosing and didn’t intend on buying anything as I am a bit like miss money penny I look after my money usually and only spend if I really do need it….or need cheering up.

well, these just jumped off the shelf and straight into my hands.

They are Clinique chubby sticks I was completely sold when I saw the shades being a total pinkaholic it was a 4 gone conclusion they were coming home with me.

It was my first thing I had ever had from Clinique apart from the odd freebie in a magazine. It was in an Outlet store so the price was £24 instead of £35 so it worked out £8 pounds a chubby stick so, to be honest, it wasn’t that bad for the purse. Plus it’s not as if I buy high-end products all the time.

  • So you have 05 Plushest Punch which is an intense colour and is inbetween a pink and a red
  • Then 06 Woppin’ Watermelon which is a toned down pink so you have some colour but not too in your face.
  • Finally 03 Budding Blossom which is more of a pink shine so for those days when you just want a tiny moisture and pinkiness

I am really impressed with them and can’t wait to wear them more.

Just remember this – Never come between a girl and her lipstick.

Hope you are all having a fab weekend so far. Thanks for stopping by 💋

My January Favourites

As you know if you have seen any of my other favourites I am very random in what I pick. Its generally what has brought me joy that month.

January has been a funny one in the way that it feels like it has gone on forever but in reality its exactly the same and today is its last day.

So here are a few favourites from the first month of 2018

Paper planes

I have heard this song so many times on the radio I can’t help but sing along and I think that Hoseah Partch has such a wonderful tone to his voice and I look forward to listening to more of his songs.

Learning a new language

img_3158

Every year for the last two or three years I have had on my list of things to do is learn a new language and I have always chosen Italian,  because I think its a passionate language – but I never got too far when trying to speak it. So there is a story behind why I want to learn welsh. My mum is half welsh and we have family in Wales so I thought it made more sense. Plus I hope to go there this year or next, so maybe could show off a bit. ha ha. I’m not too far in on Duolingo (which is a free app with loads of languages to choose from) I love Bora da which is good morning and nos da which is goodnight. I’ll keep you updated on my progress – I will stick to it.

Green pinaforeimg_3157

I have this one dress that I wish they did in every colour as I love the style of it and it fits just right. I did size up to a 12 as I have an hourglass figure. It’s from Primark in a green suede for £10 which for the quality of it I don’t think its that badly priced. My mum did manage to pick it up in a charcoal grey a few weeks ago but I have only worn it once so far. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a black one.

Archers and lemonadeimg_3159

I know last month I said that I loved Dooleys toffee vodka and it will always be my favourite, but I have started eating more healthier and I guess I needed to find a healthier alcoholic drink too.  Back in my early twenties this was what tickled my taste buds and after trying one the memories came flooding back. Peach is the only flavour I’ve seen in the actual spirit,  but I remember having raspberry alcopop archers back in the day. It was bloody yum.

Daisy

img_3160

I just had to include daisy in my favourites…Daisy is my niece, she’s a year and a half and she is such a cute one and clever for her age too. We shared some lovely moments this month and I loved it when she sat up to the table in a big chair and had a takeaway with us. She hasn’t quite grasped my name yet so, for the time being, I am Auntie Hoddy.

Journalling

img_3161

I gushed over this journal in my review of the happy journal and I am still in love with it and how it really gets you thinking about what you want and using your creative mind to get planning. Its only been a month but I am pretty sure all the other pages are just as great. If you love writing like me you’ll love it too.

Pinterest

img_3162

Lastly Pinterest, I have always loved using this app for inspiration but then in December it stopped working properly on my phone and laptop and I could only get on it intermittently. I was rather miffed but so I sent an email to the developers. A few weeks went by of them trying to fix it and then I tried it one night and its worked ever since. My Pinterest addiction is back. I would always say to anyone to download the app it has everything you could think of.

Those were my favourite things I hope you enjoyed reading about why they make me smile.

Just in time for my birthday

Mr postman knocked on the door and handed me a little package. It couldn’t have came on a better day as I wasn’t feeling too jolly so when I opened this it cheered me right up.

It came a few days before my birthday so that was another bonus. It’s another UK SILVER JEWELLERY piece from Ineffabless.

It’s a beautiful necklace with a heart and the infinity sign. It’s 18K white gold-plated sterling silver and partially covered in sparkling crystals.

The thing I love about SILVER NECKLACES UK is that you can wear them with a dress to go out or like I have with my pink suede hoodie.

I’ve had it on ever since I’ve had it. I love the sayings you can put with it…

Everlasting love/ I love you to infinity/forever love

I look forward to browsing on there again soon as I love supporting smaller companies and getting their name out there.

Hair look of the day

Just because the summer is over doesn’t mean I can’t have beachy waves in my hair.

Woke up feeling like I needed a bit of volume in my hair so here’s the simple thing I did

With the help of my Babylis cordless tongs and the ever so faithful Elnett hairspray and a little concentration.

I was able to get some pretty waves going on. Both these were purchased at Boots I think my tongs were £19.99 and the hairspray a little over a fiver.

Not much of a change just a ringlet here and there and a quick run through my hair with my fingers to so it didn’t look too fancy.

They lasted all day which  impressed me.

So there you go…. a short but sweet post I wrote when I just couldn’t sleep.

TREAT YOURSELF YOU’RE WORTH IT

When you are getting ready for the day ahead, or a night out with friends, you like to add some pretty accessories or that little piece of jewellery to finish off the look, right?

Something that makes a statement and gets people asking where you got it from and complimenting you on it. Makes you feel good I know it does me.

Jewellery has always been a love of mine from the time I crept into my parents room and went into Mums pretty box by the side of her bed…all things pretty and sparkly. She used to say when you are older you can wear as much jewellery as you like.

I was overjoyed when I was approached by Ineffabless who said I could pick a piece of jewellery of my choice so I went for this beautiful Princess silver ring

img_1338

Its Stirling silver 18k white gold plated with zircon from Swarovski and it really is a pretty little ring to suit anybody’s fingers.

I find it really hard to find a ring that fits nicely as I have such slender fingers so when I slipped it on I was pleasantly surprised that I had a ring that fitted and looked lovely at the same time.

Ineffabless UK silver jewellery doesn’t just have rings on their website they have a selection of Necklaces, Bracelets, Bangles and Earrings. They can also personalise your chosen piece for you that makes it rather special and it’s very affordable too.

Take a nosey on their website you won’t be disappointed.

Treat yourself, you’re worth it.

Once you jump in the shower your phone rings, you see it’s your best mate so you can’t just leave it so you answer it trying to keep your modesty…even though nobody else is in the house. She wants to meet you so you hop on out.

Boutique of Molly – Smart/casual look

I had a browse over on the Boutique of molly website for something that was going to be smart, casual and a bit sexy at the same time.

There was so many to choose from but I chose this top. It has a zip that comes a quarter of the way down the front so if you wanted to you could wear a little bralette with it which I may do in the summer and I’m in love with the cold shoulder look too.

I did buy a pretty floral dress too but I’ll save that for another post closer to the summer as that’s what I bought it for. Can you tell I want some sun?

NANCY COLD SHOULDER ZIP TOP

Boutique of Molly were kind enough to give me a code for all my blogger friends to use….ANYTIME. Just put it in at the checkout. They are also updating their stock all the time so if you don’t find what you want bookmark the site and come back to it. Happy shopping. 🛍
