February favourites

We are two months down into 2020. To be fair Feb has seemed shorter than Jan because it is.

BEST BITS I BOUGHT

You guessed it another wig… Heat resistant and blonde and only £12. I wish the windy weather could bugger off so I can wear it without thinking its going to blow away.

The pink jumper is a newbie too courtesy of ASOS sale. It’s cropped but just the perfect size for me.

Being a stationery addict I love new finds and I stumbled across these fountain pens in different colours. I only owned a black one so I was like these are well cheap I want some. The only downside is they are non refillable.

FOOD THAT MADE ME GO MMMM

When the boyf comes over we kind of find ourselves going to McDonalds at some point over the weekend. I have been opting for these mozzarella sticks. Before trying these I’d never eaten that type of cheese. They are bloody nice.

While in wilkos the other day I was just looking for a little bit of choc to nibble on for the journey home and these were there smiling at me, so I thought I’d be friendly and take them on. They are different to any m and m varieties I’ve ever tried but I’d definitely buy them again if we crossed paths again.

MUSIC I HAVE BEEN SINGING ALONG TO

This album will never get old even though the film is 20 years old…that makes me feel well old saying it like that 🙈

It just so happens that ITV2 showed it at the weekend so I was a happy Hol.

FILMS AND SERIES I’VE DISCOVERED AND LOVED

I have been loving watching this series on BBC Iplayer called The Split about a divorce lawyer who happens to fall in love with her co worker despite being married herself. It’s a must watch.

I watched Coming to America with Eddie Murphy back in the 1980s. Thought it was odd at the beginning but then as I got into it a bit it was so funny.

Then there was a film called You get me with Bella Thorne as the lead. It was a psychological thriller, made you think what’s she going to do next. It’s 3 years old so I expect some of you may have already been it.

MOMENTS THIS MONTH I’VE CHERISHED

Spending time with my family, the boyf and being able to do a spot of shopping.

When you don’t have to put on any front or any make up if you don’t want and they’ll think you’re wonderful all the same.

What made your February fabulous?

JANUARY FAVOURITES

What feels like the longest month is nearly over… Its been a roller-coaster one for me with having an op but there have been some lovely things also that have made my January be filled with smiles.

Let’s start with

MY PURPLE SUITCASE

I searched high and low for a suitcase as I needed one for all my worldly goods at the hospital, and just at the last minute I found this one for £30. It’s called a Grant carry on case if you were looking for one too. I know that if I need to spend the night away this beaut will be coming with me.

MUSIC OF THE MONTH

If you like listening to covers of songs then you may like to take a nosey at

Joseph Vincent

This one I’ve picked out is actually his own I believe. He has such a lovely tone to his voice

FOOD I’M LOVING

There were these sitting on a shelf asking to be bought so I couldn’t say no.

I love white chocolate and these didn’t let the side down. Truly delicious. Hopefully I can find them again as they were from a small shop.

FISHCAKE SANDWICH

Whether you like a bap or bread, you got to try mushy peas on the bottom then a fishcake. Chips are optional.

I’ve always loved fishcakes since I was little but never tried this and if I feel like treating myself this will be it.

WORD OF THE MONTH

‘Unstoppable’

The song by Sia gave me the inspiration. I knew I had a tough end to the month, so the lyrics and that word got me through.

BOOK I RECOMMEND

If you love RuPaul or Drag Race you will love this book he bought out.

It’s full of positivity and inspirational quotes like this one for example

I love RuPaul as a person and not just as a performer.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

This one describes me I guess and I love it when a quote speaks volumes.

What have you enjoyed this month?

MY SPOT / BLEMISH EMERGENCY BOX

If you have been a reader of my blog for a while you will know that my skin is prone to spots. I dunno if it’s because I started puberty early but all these years later and I still get these pesky buggers on my face.

So I thought I’m going to make a box for when my skin is bad and then don’t have to hunt for all the products, they’ll all be in one place.

Using an old box from Birchbox and turned it upside down so the names on the bottom and filled it with the following

The Tea Tree anti imperfection daily solution which has a pipette ( like those things you used in chemistry at school) you just apply it to the spots before bed and it will help diminish the redness of them.

The anti imperfection night mask works like a dream. I have been using it this month on my face which chose to have a major break out. I’ve had it for ages and never used it. I can say my spots are nearly gone in 4 days of usage.

I love it when spot treatments come in travel sizes cos you can just put them in your handbag and off you go.

The Sebamed is really good if you need to get the oil on your face and under control. Not used it a great deal but definitely worth getting.

You all know that Dermalogica is a worldwide favourite for skincare and this little beauty is great for when you get hormonal spots, it seems to help them alot.

This Laidbare is similar to the Sebamed  but is more of a cream. It’s specially formulated for oily to combo skin. Use it sparingly and it’ll last a long time.

Sudocrem has to be my absolute favourite for clearing up my spots. I dunno what’s in it but it works wonders and is only a couple of pounds.

I have only just added these patches and nose strips from Patchology to my box and not used them yet but I have read good things about them so I hope it’s true.

Why not make yourself a special box

FRIDAY FAVOURITES

As you may have seen I’ve been blogging daily… This is because I’m having surgery next week and I’m not sure how long I’ll have a painkiller induced mind for (away with the fairies)

I thought I’d keep writing to I dunno keep myself busy.

So today I thought I’d have a chat about some things that are my all-time favourite things

The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe is my favourite books from my childhood. It was so magical and I’m glad they then made it into The Chronicles of Narnia. Over the last couple of years I discovered the wonderful poet Erin Hanson. So I love flickering through the pages and relate.

These 3 films are a bit old school but I love them and have probably watched them enough to say the whole film word for word.

So random that my favourite food is chippy, sausage, sprouts and chocolate. Obviously not all at the same time.

While searching for a pic of my fave male and female actors there they were stood together and it suddenly dawned on me they were in Mamma Mia together. I think they are bloody wonderful.

My favourite animal did used to be a pig as I was growing up. But over the last 20 years I have loved sheep. I would love one as a pet, but would need a big field for him and then some friends so he didn’t feel lonely 😂

You can kind of guess what my favourite colour is… I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed but I’m half way there.

Hope you’ve enjoyed finding out what makes me happy no matter what.

LATEST IN BEAUTY

For the past 3 months I have been subscribed to Latest in beauty

Which is not like any normal subscription box you get to pick the products that you want to receive.

So here’s my video I recorded yesterday when it came via Mr Postie

Let me know what you think and also do you get a subscription box each month, I’d love to know.

December Favourites

The last Favourites of the year. I really do like looking at all the previous months as well and see what made me happy.

I’ll leave the previous 11 at the bottom of this post if you want to have a nosey.

Here is some of Decembers bits that have made me happy.

ALIEN PERFUME DEODORANT

I never knew that I could get my favourite perfume in a deodorant/body spray until I was nosing on the perfume shop website and there it was. For 100ml it’s just perfect to fit inside a handbag. Smells beautiful. I am forever getting compliments on the scent, so it’s a no brainer to at least go get a spray of it yourself at your local chemist.

PINK WIG

DC9DB70B-50B5-4642-A61F-B54252E5E1CC

Most of you would’ve seen me wearing a couple of wigs as I’m a bit fed up of the length it is so until it’s a bob style I’ll be wearing one of my 3 wigs. This is the one I love at the moment, it is very me as I love pink.

IPAD COVER

FDEF6163-E86C-48A4-A945-A64DE684B3FA

I have had an iPad for a year or so now, but I now have a pencil I can use to draw on it, a cheaper one than the Apple Pencil so I needed a cover that would keep it with the iPad so this is it. It’s very girly and practical. I love it.

DIARY AND JOURNAL

Collage 2019-12-27 15_33_50.jpg

Both of these are from Paperchase, one was a gift (the 5 mins before bed) and then i bought the pink one (one day one question). I love a diary/journal to write in…it’s just remembering to do it everyday. So these will be in eyeshot so I make them a habit to do.

FOOD

1CAF2832-0AA6-45C4-B028-648ED9BB913B

These have always been the ones I reach for out of all the Haribo sweets. But it’s been about 20 years that I’ve been calling them Tangfantastics until a few days ago I spotted its Tanfastics 🙈

SONG

I heard this song on the radio one evening in bed and thought it was so lovely. The original is of course great but I thought Celine Dions voice was so pure.

QUOTE

52D0D684-62FF-4758-BC63-C27FA664CD1CThis is a quote to remind all that the best thing you need to try and be is yourself.

what’s been your favourite thing throughout December…other than Christmas?

BLOGMAS #13

Christmas is the one time of year you can pig out on whatever you want and not feel guilty about it… OK only if you can’t fit into any of your clothes after.

So I was thinking what makes my Christmas when it comes to food.

Out of all the chocolates in celebrations the Malteser has to be my fave. If I’ve been near the tub first you’ll be lucky to see any.

I haven’t always loved mince pies only since I’ve got older. I appreciate a homemade one because someone’s took their time to make it and aren’t mass produced. But then again give me a Mr kipling one any day too. Indecisive me 😂

I am the weirdo in my family who loves sprouts, not just at Christmas, literally anytime. Best vegetable ever.

Sorry to any vegetarians but this makes my Christmas when I see it on my plate. I don’t like the cranberry sauce some have with it, just lashings of gravy.

Pigs in blankets. Yes please. Nothing more needs to be said.

Say cheese… I am a cheeseaholic anyway but love it at my aunties when the cheese board comes out. My eyes light up.

Tried stollen last year and bloody loved it, its just what the best dreams are made of… Dunno what’s in it but it gets a 10 from me.

So there you go some of my favourite foods to tuck into this time of year.

What do you love getting your teeth into?
