It’s Saturday night it’s been so bloody hot today here in England.
so I thought let’s do a nice easy Q and A from the comfort of my nice cool bedroom.
OK its called 5 favourites and I’ve chosen 5 questions from the list…
Oh this is my thinking face too 🙈
5 favourite celebrities : Micky Flanagan, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, Phillip Schofield and Cameron Diaz (3 eye candy and 2 fab women)
5 favourite words/sayings you use too much: peachy, beaut, I love it, you’re special, ya (like the German for yeah) that ones just become a habit 🙈
5 favourite movies of all time : Bridget Jones Diary – the first one, Now and then, 10 things I hate about you, The kissing booth and of course Dirty Dancing…. There’s so many than 5 I’ll do a blog post on it at a later date.
5 favourite pictures on my phone that arenot people :
5 favourite quotes:
live well, laugh often, love much.
If it doesn’t make me feel fabulous I don’t want it.
The greater the storm the brighter the rainbow.
Love yourself like your not waiting for someone else to do it
It’s not about the size you wear but how you wear your size.
It’s that time again where I wrack my brains to see what I can include in my monthly favourites.
So here we go.
I’ll start with what happened right at the start of the month… I had my hair cut off and I bloody love it
SO…? STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM BODY MIST
I saw this in Boots while browsing at the make up it was situated at the end of the aisle. Smells like a dream and good enough to eat. Nice to put on when you don’t want to put your expensive perfume on.
Always loved Miley Cyrus even in way back in her Hannah Montana days.
She is coming is her new album. At the there is only 6 on there o Spotify let’s hope she adds some more.
MY LEOPARD PRINT SANDALS
These were accidentally stumbled upon whilst browsing some summer clothes on ASOS. Aren’t they just lovely, they are a little heavy but they are so comfy. Simple but stylish.
REVLON CUSHION LIP TINT
My lips adore this lip tint from Revlon. It goes on more like a matte lipstick and stays on at least 8 hours which I think is fab for a lip tint. Love it so much I’ve purchased another one just incase they sell out 🙈
For a while after surgery I lost my appetite a bit. The one thing that got me eating again was hummous. I usually dip cucumber and carrots in. If there’s none of them it’s a packet of crisps. Luckily they also do a 30% less fat so I don’t feel too guilty whilst eating it.
If you are looking for an app that you can edit, make collages on, edit videos and add a bit of music then inshot is it. Of course with most apps there are in app purchases but to be honest you can do so much on here without having to buy anything. Go download it and have a play around.
QUOTE OF THE MONTH
Just love meaningful quotes and this one is perfect.
It’s the last day of May today, summer is finally upon us.
I always bring you a monthly favourites so here is this months
My Favourite song – Lola by The Kinks
This song is an old love. It’s been on a few Spotify playlists so a good excuse to listen to it and sing along slightly out of tune too. I said to my mum years ago if I could change my name from Holly I would choose Lola. I think it’s quirky and different.
App of the Month – Colour Checker / Asana
I like to make To Do Lists and then tick as I go. Sometimes my iPad/phone is nearer to me than a notepad so it’s easier to make my lists there.
Both of these are great apps. The colour checker is a simple one you can colour code your goal/ chore / thing to complete. Asana you can break things down and even delegate to others if you add their email to your app account. I find this one helpful if I have bullet points for my blog posts and pics to not quite put on here quite yet. Think a blogger would benefit from either of these.
Quote of the month –
No matter what things you go through in life, there will be happier times and this quote will give you comfort in knowing that. Got to love a quote with a positive message.
Favourite Tech bits
My MPOW wireless headphones I’ve had a while. I really do love shutting out the world and listen to my music, watch a film or a YouTube video at the end of the day these are perfect if you can’t afford beats or can’t justify spending over 100 pounds on headphones.
I have never had an all singing all dancing printer. The two I’ve had before were meant to be wireless but have ended up not connecting and then the paper getting stuck. So mum treated us to this one the HP Envy 5032. It is touch screen, so even mum can understand how to use it. There’s this instant ink too that you get 13 months free then only £1.99 a month for 50 prints which is perfect for me as I don’t print out loads.
Think that’s a long enough post, don’t want you nodding off.
Apart from the few days of sunny sunshine here are some of my favourite bits.
You know one of those songs that come on the radio or is recommended on a Spotify playlist and you think I really like this song. Well this one by Lissa Lo called All I need is one of those. I’ve got the chorus as my ringtone as I don’t like your bog standard ones 🙈
These have always been a fave but particularly this month. Needed a pick me up and they were there for me
We worry so much about things that have happened and realistically we can’t do anything about so this quote says it all.
As I’m still healing from having my bladder removed I’ve not really ventured very far but I did manage one day with mum to go down town in the wheelchair and spend some cash.
I got a few toiletries in boots – make up can wait, then went and got some pjs in Peacocks and some undies. On our way home there is a St Margarets Hospice charity shop so we decided to have a nosey. I got about 6 or 7 items which I’ll show you once the weather’s warmer. I always like to give my unwanted clothes to them as that was the hospice my brother was at.
Little victories this month 😊
Oooo and I managed some chips from the chippy since my appetite has been a bit pants this was a real treat.
Don’t you hate it when you wake up and you have dark circles through lack of sleep or that unwanted spot that just lands on your face. I know there are worst things in life, but it’ll make you feel so much more confident if you can conceal them.
So I’ve come up with 4 concealers that are very much raved about and I also have some tips to help
COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER
At £4.19 this is the cheapest one I’m going to mention. You can find it at Boots and Superdrug It really does help conceal the dark circles and definitely helped cover redness but not my spots. Not to say it won’t help yours. It comes in a range of shades too.
REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE CONCEALER
This one is a dupe for another one I’m going to mention that’s a bit pricey, this one is a fraction of the price at £5 from either Superdrug or Beauty Bay. It gives a full coverage which I like. You can get these in two different sizes as well if you tend to use a lot of concealer.
L’ORÉAL INFAILLABLE MORE THAN CONCEALER
This one is new out and I’ve been using it for about a month and I don’t have any intention of switching back. It has concealed my dark circles, my troublesome spots and any redness I get. It is £9.99 but I’d rather spend a tiny bit more to get a good result and fingers crossed it’ll last a few months.
TARTE SHAPE TAPE
At a steep £23. 00 the Tarte Shape Tape concealer does all the revolution concealer does but with a brand which all products come with a hefty price tag. I believe you can only get Tarte from America so people are selling them for £31.00 on Ebay. You’re silly if you wanna spend that and you don’t even know if it’s a knock off.
Those colour correction sets that come with all those different colours in them have uses for different skin complaints so I’ve found this down below that explains which colour helps what.
Also here is the places to apply your concealer to get the best results.
I also put a stripe down my nose only because I find if I don’t my foundation rubs off.
I hope you found this post informative and let me know if you have tried any others I haven’t named and you think they are worth a try.
