September in my own words

3

I haven’t really had a September if I’m honest with you. Currently writing this in my hospital bed at nearly midnight. Body is just not cooperating with me read my post here to see whats been going on.

Anyways i wanted to write what did bring a smile to my face this month.

I have never met a woman quite like my Mum. Who will drop everything when someone is in need. She always makes me smile/laugh daily. Without Mum I’d definitely be a broken girl ( i mean woman – I’m nearly 33 believe it or not )

If you are a regular reader of mine you’ll know that a new electric wheelchair was something that I’ve wanted for a long time to help with my mobility issues and i needed to raise enough money for it. I have now got it and although I’ve only been on it a handful of times inbetween my hospital stays its made so much difference.

You don’t know how much of a favourite my bed is to me. It is so comfy and when i can’t move about on bad days my bed makes it all better. Having my home comforts is paramount. you really can’t fit in a holdall when hospital visits are needed. Its really true what they say there really is no place like home.

FILMS THAT CHEERED ME UP

Pretty woman because it’s such a great snuggle down film and i just admit Mr Gere is just a gorgeous human being and who isn’t jealous of Julia’s legs and luscious curls.

Bridget Jones Baby. I have watched this film a few times and it still makes me laugh. I always wanted to be Bridget cos she always ended up with Mr Darcy, lucky cow.

Lastly I’ll leave you with a song that means alot to me.

Hope you’ve all had a fab september and here’s to autumn in bloom in October and my birthday.

AUGUST FAVOURITES – Currently Loving

3

Well what can I say August has been a whirlwind of a month where my health is concerned and visits to hospital but I always find good things to cheer me up each month.

So here are the few things that either bought me a smile or just helped me in some way

I thought we would start of with a food favourite, which would be a packet of whichever flavour French fries (I like them all) and some low fat humus that you can buy a mini pack of 3 from Morrison’s. This is definitely my go to snack at the mo. I don’t feel so guilty pigging out on this as I would on a cornetto (which is also another fave)

After coming out of hospital last week I had been saving my pennies for something that would cheer me up and I defo needed cheering up so this beauty is now mine. It’s a iPad 9.7 2018 edition which is the best priced iPad if you don’t want to splash out on. I have all my favourite apps on it and watching Netflix on it or YouTube is just lovely.

To go with it I got myself a cover to protect it as I am known to drop things and all the cases that I seen on Amazon weren’t floating my boat and then I saw this flamingo one and I was like yes yes and yes. I really love it and I hope it lasts a long time as I hate it when they start cracking down the spine bit.

A totally weird thing to have as a favourite, but I picked this up in Flying Tiger. It’s a stress cheese with 2 mice in it. It actually does help my anxiety because you are concentrating on getting the mice out of the cheese and not thinking about the panic/anxiety attack itself, I think it was £3 and I think it’s so worth it. Flying Tiger have some really awesome little gadgets and bits that you will find handy. They aren’t online but you can always search for your nearest store.

This is one of my favourite quotes I have stumbled across this month. It keeps me positive and know that whatever life throws at me I got this quote to spur me on. I always think that quotes can help you on so many levels. Have yourself a little collection on your phone or in a book.

This is well cheesy but the song gets me singing along and I always loved steps growing up dancing around my kitchen or living room to 5,6,7,8 or tragedy. It’s really good when an old band from your childhood reunites as it’s a bit nostalgic and you can’t help but think of those good times. Please don’t judge me.

There you have it a few random things that have perked up my August.

Get your winter warmers out, autumns coming and I can’t wait it’s my favourite season of all.

Oh yes its Friday night

6

Hey Hey, its Friday.

I actually don’t mind staying in on a Friday night, or a Saturday come to think of it. I think as you get older you go past caring about going out on the razz every weekend.

I’m going to make my Friday night a nostalgic one. Cos i love memories i can look back on. So here’s my plans.

I’ve got 10 things i hate about you, cos who didn’t swoon over Heath singing your too good to be true can’t take my eyes off of you back in the 90s.

Then Billy Elliot, i love the how it’s full of controversy and it tells a wonderful story. Julie Walters is so funny in it too.

Finally Muriels Wedding. It’s such a classic and me and my friend Lou used to do the Waterloo dance in her living room until we had the moves to a T.

I found my diary from 10 years ago and i know this will be a banger to read as i remember the boyfriends and my clubbing days were quite something to write about so i look forward to reading that.

Then I’m gonna put a face mask on too just so i feel a bit more relaxed.

If i can’t sleep i may get started on my scrap book, i have only used 4 pages in it so far but really wanna make it something rather interesting to flip through when it’s finished.

What do you like doing on a Friday night?

Yes i bloody would, wouldn’t you?

I am quite partial to looking at a silver fox…I just love it when a man is greying I always think you are definitely going to look better with age. These are a handful of the ones that make me go mmm when I see them on TV. Well if I could jump through the screen who bloody knows haha.

nintchdbpict000281565092

Paul Hollywood: He really is this delish in real life I met him for a meet and greet as a birthday pressie. A day I’ll never forget.

PhillipSchofield4

richardgere380

Richard Gere: Like a fine wine, Just gets better with age. Love him in all his films especially Pretty Woman.

There you go there’s an insight into my thoughts on the lovely silver foxes in this world.

Whos your favourite silver fox of all time?

July favourites – Currently loving

4

Its the last day of July and what a lovely glorious one it’s been. Summer is definitely in full swing now. Roll on the next couple of months.

Here’s the best bits from July aka Chapter 7

HOT WEATHER

As I always feel the cold its been so lovely to have hot hot weather. If you aren’t from the UK you won’t know we never get sun this good so it’s quite a treat. I’ve got myself a little tan so I’m happy as I very rarely tan.

SWIMMING COSTUME

20180729_2035202008655681469891661-e1533020910725.jpg

I was drawn to it because of the cactus on it but was utterly blown away when I saw the full price of it in Primark £4…yes I thought you are going in my basket. Can’t say I’d trust it in any swimming pool as it’ll probably be see through but it’s cute.

CATS EYES SUNNIES

20180729_202525-012958753915877875778-e1533021168131.jpeg

I have a few pairs of sunglasses that I have had for donkeys years so I thought I’d treat myself to a pair on ASOS and these were the ones that drew me in. When they came I was hoping they would suit me as it would have been sad to send them back. Luckily they did. They were £12. I’ve worn them every day since. Thumbs up.

SONG OF THE MONTH

Since I was about 7 I have loved Gabrielle. She’s quirky and her voice really is something else. This is her latest song: SHINE. It is quite catchy. Really hoping she has an album coming out. Will keep my ears open for it.

BULLET JOURNAL

So many times this year I started making a bullet journal and it just didn’t look right, I wasn’t happy with how I was setting it out. I felt unmotivated to carry it on. So I came across this little beauty on Amazon for £4.99 and I thought if this doesn’t work then bullet journaling isn’t for me. We have a winner. It’s kept me very productive and organised. May do a flip through on here at some point.

Finally

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

screenshot_20180731-074459_onenote1438858363775409674.jpg

I always do this, I like people to feel happy with themselves. You never know how much of a positive impact it would have on someone.

Along with these favourites I have seen two of my lifelong friends get wed a week ago, well their evening do. They had been together 13 years and thought best do it. They live on a farm so the evening do was in a barn. My wheelchair needed a clean when we got home but it was so worth it.

August is only a day away…

let the sun shine on.

CURRENTLY LOVING – MY JUNE FAVOURITES

2

Its been a beautiful June, with the sunshine as an added extra. Heres hoping it lasts all summer long. Let’s be honest it’s England, the rain will probably be back next week.

Anyways here are some Favourites I have been loving this month and has put a big smiley on my face at some point or another.

SONG – BACK TO YOU BY SELENA GOMEZ

I absolutely adore this song at the moment, sometimes I can’t help pressing the repeat button. It has a really catchy tune and it actually was in last months playlist too. Selena Gomez you talented chick.

FOOD – GOLD BARS

screenshot_20180628-210110_amazon5135120887953212418.jpg

You know when you don’t fancy a huge chocolate bar but just enough to curb your sugar craving for a little bit. A gold bar is the one you need. They are £1 for 8 I think. I think this as a ice cream or milkshake would be really delicious.

CHEESE AND BROCCOLI PASTA

downloadfile2978225030654856653.jpg

These are new out in the supermarket and very popular by the looks of it. Can only usually manage to get 2 or 3 a week. I would totally bulk buy if I could. they are yummy and fill me up of a lunchtime. Mums a fan of them too.

MAKEUP PRODUCT -MAX FACTOR FACEFINITY

After going through half a dozen different foundations I have finally found ‘THE ONE’. After all my wasted pounds. The shade is just perfect, the consistency of it is just thick enough and the added bonus is I don’t need to add any concealer as its a 3 in 1. It Primes, conceals and covers. It is worth the £12.99 I paid. If you want to see the ones I didn’t get on with here is my Foundation fails

FILM – MAN IN THE MOON

screenshot_20180628-210431_amazon1786795265387912230.jpg

If you are a fan of Reese Witherspoon you’ll love this film, and if you love a good tear jerker too you’ll love it. I watched THE MAN IN THE MOON first of all on YouTube and thought it was brilliant. Luckily I found it in our region on Amazon for £7. Always make sure that you select the right region when they are not in your native tongue. Region 1 for USA and Region 2 for UK (me).

My May Favourites

0

As I am writing this there are 2 days of May left,

It’s been a lovely one especially for the glorious weather we’ve had… I have actually got a little tan coming on.

Here’s what has also made me happy this month.

LOVERDOSE PERFUME

diesel-loverdose-parfemova-voda-s-rozprasovacem

This has always been my number one perfume. I reckon I’ve been wearing it on and off for about 6 years. The bonus this month is that I went into Boots to get some toothpaste and happened to catch a glimpse of this in the perfume cabinet. Normally it retails for £37.00 and it was on sale for £29.99. Safe to say it went straight in my bag.

MY MAY PLAYLIST

These are my top 10 songs that I’ve been loving lately. When they come on the radio I can’t help but sing along. Normally on Spotify I am trying to find songs that take me down memory lane but I thought I would listen to more recent hits and I’m impressed.

DISTRESSED DENIM JACKET

20180528_2217557213673163304431435.jpg

I used to have a cropped denim coat a few years back but then I gained a little bit of weight and had to donate it. I went nosing on all the online shops I could think of to try and find a nice one and this beaut was on ASOS. It is now out of stock so I am so relieved that I got it when I did. Since I bought it if I need a jacket its the one I’ve been grabbing every time. Safe to say I love it.

THE KISSING BOOTH

45a38850d7cc93849554b98be3d82d5b251a5a99

The Kissing Booth was on my recommended films to watch on Netflix. I decided to watch the trailer and I thought it was quite funny so I watched it. I was quite blown away by how emotional I got. They really thought about the storyline. Its more of a coming of age into adulthood type film but at 32 I must say it had me interested from start to end. I won’t tell you what happened but it’s about a girl, her best guy friend and his hunky brother.

FLOW FREE

xlqxz.jpg

I am not one who really plays games but I needed something that was going to be a distraction when a panic attack struck. I stumbled across this game called Free Flow. As you can see above the aim of the game is that you have to connect the same colour dots without interrupting the flow of the rest. It’s one of those games you can easily get lost in and addicted to. I have it on my laptop, my kindle and my phone. It’s definitely one to try.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

I always like to include a quote that gets you thinking and has meaning behind it and after seeing this one I thought this ones really good I’ll use it here. This one is telling you that no matter what gets your back up or gets you down, if you make the right choices everything will turn out just fine.

They’ll have you smiling, laughing and crying

6

All of us have those films that we watch over and over again…

No matter how you are feeling, you put them on and they do all sorts to your emotions. They could tug at your heartstrings, make you laugh, and be super relatable too.

I have put together a small list of mine

you can probably see a theme…

Pretty Woman

I mean who wouldn’t want to meet a gorgeous silver fox who turns your life around, you fall in love with him and just by chance he climbs up the side of the building to say will you be mine.

Now and Then

If you grew up in the 90s you will know this legendary film. Its 4 friends all different in their own way growing up, finding the meaning of life, boys and friendship. It’s one I’ll always love til I’m old and wrinkly.

Dirty Dancing

I would hope that if I was to jump up into someone’s arms they would do the lift. I really love everything about the film, the acting, the songs and the quotes – nobody puts baby in a corner. Damn right and nobody puts Holly in a corner either. ha ha.

Notting Hill

Cheeky but oh so lovely Hugh Grant with Julia Roberts, I am a fan of hers if you couldn’t tell. Its a funny film but also shows that infact someone with a high profile status can fall in love with the average norm or whatever your name may be.

Bridget Jones

The first one hands down will always be a favourite. Bridget is one lucky lady having Mark Darcy swooning over her. This is me and my best friends go to film…we use the quotes to make each other laugh. It’s a film that can really be enjoyed no matter how young or old you are.

The Bodyguard

I love singing along to this film so much. It has my full attention for the full few hours its on. Whitney had that sass about her and those eyes of ‘Farmer’. If you haven’t ever watched this film are you even human?

My Sisters Keeper

There’s always that one film that you love but it makes you cry loads and this is mine. It’s a true eye opener about life with a terminal illness and what a whole family goes through and not just the sufferer. It was such a beautiful film and will always be the one to grab when I feel like getting a bit emosh.

What are your favourites

– New or old?

Thanks for reading, til next time…

My April Favourites

3

Blimey, didn’t April just fly by…

I have had a think of what things I wanted to put in my favourites and here is what I came up with.

20180425_2214244086476735668719264.jpg

You really won’t believe it but I was nosing around our local St Margarets Hospice Charity Shop and what did I spot on the top shelf but this beauty by Alexa Chung. I had borrowed it from our library a while back and it was £15 online so I thought one day I’ll get it. I managed to save my self a huge amount as it was £1.75. I love it and its pink too which makes me even happier.

20180426_0814378551998120211675952.jpg

I had never purchased from everything5pounds.com and then I saw it on twitter I think and thought I would have a nose and I love what I managed to pick up. A grey sweater with ‘Crush on you’ embroidered on the left boob area. A denim mini skirt which will come in handy for back garden sunbathing. Lastly, a shoulder bag with a cloud and a rainbow. Its just big enough for all my bits and pieces. All 5 pounds each.

This is my ringtone I heard it on the Schwartzkopf advert and thought I was such a catchy tune and hadn’t really heard of Jax Jones before. Its one of those songs that gets you in a happy mood.

Ok, we have Roxanne from thebeautykingdom.com

Then its Abi from Ramblingsofablonde.co.uk

Then Sophia from Sophiaaaxo.com

Finally Gail from Gailhenderson.blog

All 4 of these ladies are funny, kind and inspirational in their own way. I enjoy interacting with them on a daily basis and glad to have met them online and hope to have them as friends for life.

d02d97f7f11fdd8f9c1d9b517ccb78272155473280630448336.jpg

I saw this quote on someones Instagram and I instantly loved it and found it on google to save. I know that the majority of people would be beautiful inside out but there’s a minority that would not. Wouldn’t it be cool though if you could actually do this just for an hour or so?

Thanks for stopping by…

I hope you had a fab April and lets hope May brings us plenty of sunshine.
