Skincare for spot prone skin

When I did beauty therapy at college 12 years ago I always thought that the products we were using Dermalogica would never be in my price range.

Well it’s great when you spot a bargain, and that I did.

This Breakout clearing kit was £26. I am a sufferer of spots any time of the month so I’d be silly not to try it. The kit includes

  • a breakout clearing foaming wash
  • A breakout clearing booster
  • A skin soothing hydrating lotion.

The headband was a freebie.

This clear start blotting paper keyring is just perfect for on the go oily moments. He was also a freebie ( I’ll get to why at the end)

For when my skin in semi OK I thought this special cleansing gel would be one to alternate from the one in the kit. It was £11.50.

This daily microfoliant is meant to make your skin look radiant. I believe it will just not tried it yet. Its a powder. This was part of the freebie.

OK so you all probably know Toff from I’m a celebrity. She suffers with bad skin and works alongside Dermalogica. So if you spent over £30 and put in the code TOFF then you got some extras.

Not sure how long the offer is on but the freebies are about £20 if you bought them.

Oh this was at the bottom of the box, 4 of them actually. I’m hoping they make my skin perfect like their name.

We all need a summer spritz

Some of you may be thinking of an alcoholic drink…

Although that is refreshing, this is going to be better for you.

When it’s rather warm and you need cooling down, you definitely need a facial spray to hand.

They are also soothing and calming as they state. They may not keep you cool for ages but in this heatwave they’ll look after your skin and leave it feeling more hydrated.

Of course there are more on the market but these are the ones I own.

The next post will be my monthly favourites next week.

So I’ll say have a fab weekend and stay sun safe.

A little beauty haul

Well I bought some bits on ASOS the other week only to be disappointed and sent it all back…can’t help having a chunky butt 😂

So with that money I bought some new goodies and here is what arrived for me today.

TWO FACE MASKS

Both soothing in this weather and I thought I could go between the two. I’ve tried the other Garnier clay masks and most peel off 7th heaven ones so I know these will be fab.

A COLOURFUL PALETTE OF 76 EYESHADOWS

If you didn’t know already, I am absolutely shite at doing any eyeshadow apart from a plain lid so I thought that this would be a start and it was under a tenner so if I can’t follow the YouTube tutorials it won’t be a waste of money.

I thought I may as well get some brushes to work with and these were about 7 pounds. I would definitely spend on more expensive ones if I was any good. I was so excited there was a foundation / spooly / eyeliner one too.

ROSE QUARTZ FACIAL ROLLER

I have seen these all over Instagram and YouTube and I finally caved in and got myself one. It is supposed to help the puffiness in your face and help around your eyes too. Let’s hope it gives me a forever young face.

MAYBELLINE ERASER CONCEALER

For those dark circles and the annoying spots I still get at 33 i picked this one. I have high hopes for it. As in the name it says erase. Impurities be gone.

There you have it, I will keep you in the loop on what I think of them as I need to try put some more beauty posts on here.

I miss…

Things that are missing from my life that I wish weren’t.

I miss not being invited out, its nice to he asked even if you don’t feel well enough it’s the thought.

I miss those no longer here anymore, my big brother especially. All I have is photos and memories in my mind.

I miss being able to go out on road trips with my dad. Why did dementia have to take that away?

I miss being able to work and have a bit more of a busier day and something to talk/moan about lol

I miss being able to walk to town, or anywhere for that matter. A little bit around the house is as much as I get to do on good days, the rest is in the wheelchair.

With all of these things missing I always make the best of every day because I just can’t let it get me down, as I’d be no good to anyone.

Its not dwelling, just observing.

Love conquers all

Here’s me a single pringle

(I nearly hate that saying as much as people say ‘off on me holibobs’)

I believe that the right person is out there for everyone. No matter how long you’re waiting.

Whether it’s a man or a woman I really don’t mind as long as I’m loved and I love them in return.

I totally don’t think there should be labels such as straight, gay, bisexual, queer, pansexual and any others I’ve missed. It should just be I’m in love with this person, end of.

Its been a while since I’ve been in a relationship but hopefully someone will see what a fab human being I am and literally sweep me up off my feet.

If you are reading this and are single, please don’t worry. Go with what your heart tells you, you will know when the time is right.

Chill the F out

As I write this I have plonked my headphones on and put some acoustic music on so I can get into the zone.

So many of us stress out about so many situations there really isn’t any need if you just chill the F out.

Firstly I have changed my laptop screen photo to this kanako sketch.

Seeing the word Namaste always gets me into a more chilled state. It’s only a word I know but I totally think words are pretty powerful.

I need to help my mum with a few things before tea. After my tea though I will start to get into my zen place.

Firstly I’m going to light a candle, I got this vanilla marshmallow one from the body shop that smells devine.

Then I’m going to get my planner and get all plans I need to do for the week noted down. I don’t want to forget about the important stuff.

I may put a nice soothing face mask on and just be… You know what I mean, where you don’t worry about anything for that 15 mins that your face mask is setting. Yeah that feeling.

You may have a different way of chilling out – for instance: PJs, Movies and snacks.

No way is right or wrong just make sure you take time out of your day/week to unwind and chill.

I hear there is more sun on the horizon so go enjoy

Day in the life…

I say day in the life, this isn’t a typical day it’s what happened today.

I had to get up super early as we are having our ensuite made into a wet room so I can manoeuvre about a bit as our shower was tiny and when my mobility is crap it wasn’t very practical. So the work men have been in since Monday.

Mum had to wash my hair over the sink in the kitchen this morning, luckily it’s short and doesn’t take too long.

Then mid morning I had to go have some blood tests as after the op I had they need to do it every 3-4 months to keep an eye. I’m also getting tested for diabetes as I’ve not been feeling full par of late and a few symptoms of type 2 are what I’m experiencing. I’ll let you know what that outcome is.

So naughty I know but mum treated me and her to a chippy lunch. We normally have one naughty day and that was today. It was really yummy.

My anxiety and chronic fatigue has been playing up lately so I took myself up to my room this afternoon and just led on top of my bed and tried to zone out… Bit hard with the banging from the work men but it’ll be worth all the noise.

Still wearing this smile at the end of the day.

Gonna say nighty night and I hope you all have had a great day.
