FRIDAY FAVOURITES

As you may have seen I’ve been blogging daily… This is because I’m having surgery next week and I’m not sure how long I’ll have a painkiller induced mind for (away with the fairies)

I thought I’d keep writing to I dunno keep myself busy.

So today I thought I’d have a chat about some things that are my all-time favourite things

The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe is my favourite books from my childhood. It was so magical and I’m glad they then made it into The Chronicles of Narnia. Over the last couple of years I discovered the wonderful poet Erin Hanson. So I love flickering through the pages and relate.

These 3 films are a bit old school but I love them and have probably watched them enough to say the whole film word for word.

So random that my favourite food is chippy, sausage, sprouts and chocolate. Obviously not all at the same time.

While searching for a pic of my fave male and female actors there they were stood together and it suddenly dawned on me they were in Mamma Mia together. I think they are bloody wonderful.

My favourite animal did used to be a pig as I was growing up. But over the last 20 years I have loved sheep. I would love one as a pet, but would need a big field for him and then some friends so he didn’t feel lonely πŸ˜‚

You can kind of guess what my favourite colour is… I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed but I’m half way there.

Hope you’ve enjoyed finding out what makes me happy no matter what.

BLOGMAS #17

πŸŽ„

This Christmas poem i wrote 4 years ago and I share it every year.

‘Christmas is coming

Everybody’s going mad

Spending hours shopping to see what bargins there are to be had

Stuff it I can’t afford it I’ll put it on the plastic card,

Knowing that in the new year problems with money will come and hit them hard

It’s great to see on Christmas Day

Your family smile and cheer

That all that effort just for one day

Is well and truly here

The food is on the table,

Each plate is piled up high,

Lunch has cost a fortune

You can’t help but lie

The day is finally over,

Now all you want to do is cry

Instead you reach for the mulled wine

and a good old mince pie.

New year arrives,

Your credit card bill comes in the post

You nearly can’t bring yourself to open it,

The thing you really have been dreading the most.

Money is very tight,

The repayments are today

You pay the bare minimum,

The electric bill is in sight.

Thinking you don’t know if you can afford to have a little light.

Taking you back to that shopping trip

Where you went completely mad

Here’s some advice so take it

If you don’t you’ll wish you had

Your family and friends will love you

Whether you spent money on them or not

Don’t try and keep up with the Jones’

Just be there at Christmas and remember to smile a lot.

Hope you all get the jist of the poem

and pray that if you are reading this

It doesn’t describe you ‘

It’s not what you look like

I thought I’d write a poem today which will most likely make a feature in my book once I put it together…

Let me know what you think

🌸

It’s not what you look like, it makes you stand out I know, but does it show just who you are deep down, I think no.

Don’t be superficial and just go on looks alone, the person who you are seeking should like you for you, if not tell them to go.

Standing in front of the mirror, does it show how you feel, your happiness inside you spinning on an imaginary wheel?

Don’t worry about the outside it is not to be approved, because once you have undressed it.. all has been removed,

So worry about the inside of you before you decorate the out.

Tell the vanity inside of you to hurry up, get out.

🌸

September Faves

It’s the 9th month of favourites… I can’t believe how fast the year has gone. Blink and it’ll be Christmas 😁

So let’s start with a this duvet set that was my favourite before it even arrived. I fell in love with it online and thought yes you’ll make me very happy… Its so snuggly and warm I feel like hibernating in it every night.

I am a sucker for nail varnishes that last and look good so theseΒ  two by Barry M look just like gel but are infact Molten Metal shades πŸ’…πŸΌ

The pink one is so me and the purple one is a perfect autumnal colour.

A bit of pampering has taken place through the month of September and this weekend I had a spa stay with my Mum and Sister in law to be Kerry it was nice to chill out and it all started with this delicious cream tea.

I have always loved poetry, I will have to look out the book I made age 7 or 8…it was hilarious. However I am inspired by this wonderful poet to write and publish my own poetry book
Maya Angelou… and this is one of her fab books.
A must read.

So there are a few of my favourite things…

What are some of yours?

Til next time

Welcome to the weekend

Welcome to the weekend

Enjoy it while it’s here.

Don’t get too drunk and silly,

Trust me you won’t remember it

this time next year.

Try and make some memories

and hold them very close,

Make sure you spend it

with the people you love most.

Weekends only come

every 6th and 7th day,

So use them very well.

For when they have gone and its Monday,

It’s welcome back to hell.

Hey guys, It thought I would start off the weekend with a poem and to say I am starting to put together poetry to publish in a book. So I thought I’d get warmed up and write this just for you.

If you have a dream you wish to come true, keep working on it and trust me it will be worth it all in the end.
