Cover me up

Don’t you hate it when you wake up and you have dark circles through lack of sleep or that unwanted spot that just lands on your face. I know there are worst things in life, but it’ll make you feel so much more confident if you can conceal them.

So I’ve come up with 4 concealers that are very much raved about and I also have some tips to help

COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER

At £4.19 this is the cheapest one I’m going to mention. You can find it at Boots and Superdrug It really does help conceal the dark circles and definitely helped cover redness but not my spots. Not to say it won’t help yours. It comes in a range of shades too.

REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE CONCEALER

This one is a dupe for another one I’m going to mention that’s a bit pricey, this one is a fraction of the price at £5 from either Superdrug or Beauty Bay. It gives a full coverage which I like. You can get these in two different sizes as well if you tend to use a lot of concealer.

L’ORÉAL INFAILLABLE MORE THAN CONCEALER

This one is new out and I’ve been using it for about a month and I don’t have any intention of switching back. It has concealed my dark circles, my troublesome spots and any redness I get. It is £9.99 but I’d rather spend a tiny bit more to get a good result and fingers crossed it’ll last a few months.

TARTE SHAPE TAPE

At a steep £23. 00 the Tarte Shape Tape concealer does all the revolution concealer does but with a brand which all products come with a hefty price tag. I believe you can only get Tarte from America so people are selling them for £31.00 on Ebay. You’re silly if you wanna spend that and you don’t even know if it’s a knock off.

Those colour correction sets that come with all those different colours in them have uses for different skin complaints so I’ve found this down below that explains which colour helps what.

Also here is the places to apply your concealer to get the best results.

I also put a stripe down my nose only because I find if I don’t my foundation rubs off.

I hope you found this post informative and let me know if you have tried any others I haven’t named and you think they are worth a try.

GLAMOUR BEAUTY CLUB – BEAUTY PRODUCT REVIEWS

About 6 months ago i had no idea about the glamour beauty club. I saw it on one of my blogger friends instagram and thought I’d probably get rejected from applying because i had only 500 followers on there.

Never think that way because i have been sent about 5 or 6 things so far from the glamour beauty club such as

  • Hawaiian aftersun
  • Wilkinsons sword shaver
  • Givenchy mini mascara and tester perfume
  • L’ocitane face oil
  • Maybelline lipstick

As you can see they send high end as well as drug store brands too.

The best thing about it is these things you get sent aren’t even out in the shops or online yet so you are chosen to try and give your opinion on the product.

If you are interested in this then don’t hesitate in being part of the gang.

Heres where to click you will thank me.

Enjoy your beauty bits and if you reply to the email with your thoughts too it’ll let them know you still want to receive products from them in the future.

Stand out this summer

We are so lucky to have this lovely sunshine in the UK and we all love to visit the beach to make the most of it, and top up our tans.

I bring you this beautiful Peacock paradise designer swimsuit by Delores Cortes which i was kindly sent to feature on my social media platforms from ukswimwear

It is a top Spanish brand in swimwear and to give you my honest opinion i wouldn’t usually pick such a colourful costume. When i saw this one on the website i thought it stood out and would go really nice with my hair colour and my skin tone. I wasn’t wrong. I really like how it looks.

I wanted something i could feel comfortable in as i spend most of the time in a wheelchair and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s so very well made. As you can see it’s low at the back, i myself have a few lumps and bumps here and there but it holds you in all in the right places.

Bear in mind it comes up small as it comes from Spain and is different sizing to the UK.

I am usually a size 12 but decided to go for a 14 just to be on the safe side and it fits a treat.

I definitely recommend having a nose on the ukswimwear website as there are swimming costumes to suit any budget. They do bikinis, kaftans and cover-ups too.

But please remember a swimsuit isn’t just for the summer it’s for all year round.

The Body Shop Treats

Where i live we have a outlet store of The Body Shop. I didn’t actually know until i asked the other day that if they aren’t a full price store it will take 18 months to 2 years to get the stock that’s a new range for instance. I think that’s shocking.

Anyways, i was having a quick nosey round a few shops before my hospital app last Thursday and thought oooo lets have a nosey round The Body shop and here are the few goodies i picked up.

Ok, anybody who doesn’t like the smell of banana this wont interest you. They have a new banana range with Shampoo, conditioners, body yogurts and body butters. I went for two lots of the body butter. They were £6 each and small enough to put in your handbag.

In this hot weather anything sprayed on your face is refreshing. I picked this strawberry face mist up and it smells bloody beautiful. It’s mini so you can fit it in your pocket if needs be. If they ever bring out a bigger one i am purchasing it. Again this was £6. So kind to your purse.

Lastly i was informed i could pick up something for free on the table to the side of the till. So i looked though the different scents of the hand cream and this Almond milk and honey took my fancy. You literally only need the smallest bit to go a long way. It’s so moisturising and will last forever, i mean a long time.

There you go there were my little treats to myself.

What’s your favourite product from The Body Shop?

Foundation Fails

I know I’m not on my own in this.

Trying to find the ‘Perfect’ foundation. The one that’s going to look like your 2nd skin and hide any impurities. Well, I went on the hunt about 4 months ago and here are the ones that have been complete foundation failures for me. They are all the same shade may I add which is Ivory…cos I’m super pale.

true match

I started using True Match quite a few years ago. I didn’t have the best coverage with it. The colour was rather pinky and didn’t stay put all day. Nothing is worse than having to reapply. So I decided to add one to mix together…

I thought if I blended Revlon Colorstay with the True Match then maybe it would be more my colour. I’d say it was better than just on its own but left my skin quite dry in my T zone. So I hunted on some more.

Knowing that the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer was absolutely amazing I thought the foundation would be too. Got the Palest one and I looked like an Oompa Loompa. What a waste of money that was. I did get him off the internet so I couldn’t swatch him on my skin beforehand.

loreal ivory

The next one I looked for I wanted it to be high coverage as I have some acne scarring from my childhood. I had seen rave reviews about Infallible Total Cover so out came the purse. It was too thick,  like you had put cement on your face and didn’t feel natural. He’s still sitting in my drawer having a think of what he’d done to my face.

make up revolution concealer

Lastly is the Revolution Foundation Stick. I really wanted to love this. It was relatively cheap compared to the others. You didn’t need much on as it went s long way. Had it on for about 4 hours great. Any longer and it left my face shiny and almost melting off my face and definitely not kiss proof, tried and tested. More on his face than my lips.

I have found one that I’m absolutely loving and is definitely a keeper. I will be featuring it in my Monthly Favourites post in a few days so keep an eye out for it.

Top picks inside my make up bag

make up essentials

I won’t forget the day I put my make up bag in Debenhams toilet by the hand basin, only to touch up my lippy and concealer, and walked out and totally forgot to pick it up. Went back and it was gone…jammy sods. I reckon there was about 70 pounds worth and there was a lot of makeup in the bag…we are going back maybe 8 years ago. I was gutted. Now I only take these essentials out if needed from this beautiful makeup bag. Which if I may add, was from Primark for a fiver. Yes, 5 pounds. it looks much more expensive I think.

Ok, so I will take it from left to right in the picture above

make up revolution concealer REVOLUTION FOUNDATION STICK

At the moment I have been using this foundation stick which I think is really good for your purse it’s one of the cheapest you can find in Superdrug at £5 they come in a range of shades and you really don’t need to plaster yourself in it as it gives great coverage.

I will be doing a foundation post in a few weeks and this one will be featured in it too so keep your eyes peeled

benefit high beam min

BENEFIT HIGH BEAM HIGHLIGHTER

Not one to go super silly with a gurt shiny face I chose a mini from the Benefit website, just to try it out. It comes with a tiny brush type applicator which is great because you can apply and much or as little as you like. It’s perfect…and it’ll fit in any size bag no matter how small it is. This was £10.50 and I believe the full-size one is £22.

CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICK

There are days when I really don’t want to draw attention to my lips and that’s when the chubby stick comes in handy. Just adding a little bit of colour and moisture to them. Clinique are selling these at £11.99 for 1 and £35.00 for a trio. In my outlet store, the trio was £24.99. I didn’t pay it was a gift from my Mum. This pink shade is called Woppin Watermelon. I always love it when a lippy has a funky name to it.

conceal and define

REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE

I am always on the lookout for a concealer that is going to hide my dark circles and cover up any blemishes and redness on my face. For a small price of £4 I really am impressed with it, I got the palest shade possible which I think is C1 and seems to be the popular shade as its always in and out of stock. The only disappointment is that it ran out too quickly for my liking. I’ll go a bit more gingerly with it next time. This is exclusive to Superdrug or the Revolution website.

hoola bronzer mini

BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER

If you are a makeup fan you will definitely heard of Hoola by Benefit. Used with the correct brushes you can use it for either bronzing your whole face or contouring your cheeks etc. At the moment I am sweeping a bit of it all over my face as I am gradually getting a tan on my body so my face really needs to match. A mini Hoola retails at £10.63 and a full size is £20.83. as I don’t go too heavy on my make up the mini is ample enough for me.

MAYBELLINE LASH SENSATIONAL WATERPROOF MASCARA

This is one thing I do shop about to try and find the one that gives my lashes the desired effect, I am always being commented on my eye colour (green) so I figure that’s my best feature and to make the best of it, so I like framing them with this lovely mascara. It doesn’t clump the lashes which is always an added bonus. I picked the waterproof one because i am either crying with laughter, crying at something sad on the tv or my eyes are watering from the sun. At £8.99 I think it beats some of the more expensive ones out there I have tried. in the past.

Its always best to nosey around and see what you can get for the best price and think do you really need the big one or could you do with a mini.

There you have it my 6 favourites make up products that I use at the moment, as you know with new ranges being brought out all the time this could all change in the months to come but for now, I am loving these.

Do you have a favourite product you can’t go anywhere without?

Thanks for stopping by

Until next time
