Today I thought I would talk you through these helpful things that help me plan a bit better than just plain old pen and paper.
I want you to know this, you can use these 5 essentials for anything in life not just blogging.
AN A3 WHITEBOARD
I bought this in Whsmiths sometime last year for £6.99 I think I am pretty sure they still will be in there now. I have used a piece of pink card cut up into how many topics I want to cover wrote on with a sharpie to stand out and stuck on with magnetic tape which you can buy from Amazon for under a fiver. I find that when I am planning blog posts I can bring down the relevant one and do a spidergram with all my ideas. I really do find it really handy. I then either take a pic on the phone of my ideas and add to OneNote or write it in a book.
A DIY TO DO LIST
I made this to help me stay on track with what I had to do whether it was blog related or not it, and its super helpful. Write your thing to do on the tape and stick it up there on the board, when its done take it down..simple. I bought the mini clipboard from good old Wilkos The sticky blackboard paper and coloured tape from Amazon. These are two places I love to get my stationary from as its so cheap.
A SELECTION OF NOTELETS AND WEEKLY PLANNER SHEETS
When out shopping and I come across notelets or weekly planners you can guarantee I’ve grabbed one or the other off the shelf and shoved it in my basket. They are great if you have an idea but don’t want to use up a whole sheet of paper or don’t have your technology to hand. The prettier they are sometimes you don’t want to use them. I got the first one in the sale in Primark for £3 possibly less, and the last two in HomeSense.I wish these had online stores, I would be penniless and many of you too.
A NOTEBOOK FOR LITERALLY ANYTHING
I bought this years ago but I can’t remember where, and I didn’t write in it as I thought I want it to be organised and just about one thing when in fact the list on the front said it all write all sorts in there. So that’s what I have started to do. If you want to keep it in some sort of order then adapt it to your needs with an index, washi tape for marked pages, however, you wish.
AN INSPIRATION PINBOARD
Go pick up a large pinboard from your local supermarket or stationery store, open up Pinterest and look for some inspiration that’s going to keep you going when you are writing. These are a few I printed out a few months ago and I do need to add a few more. You could make it into a vision board, put all your notes on it, photographs of people that make you smile or your cat or dog…you really can use it for anything.
There you have it I thought I would stick to 5 as I could have gone on and on. I’d love to hear what things you use to plan/organise yourselves.
