BLOGMAS #22

Instead of favourite Christmas songs I thought I’d find a playlist with all the Christmas number one hits over the years and of course good old Spotify had one.

Which one is your favourite?

Me the nostalgia comes back with East 17 – Stay another day with all of them with white coats and fluffy hoods.

Can’t beat a winter Q and A so I thought I’d do one for todays post.

1. GREEN CHRISTMAS OR WHITE CHRISTMAS?

White Christmas.I love it when it looks outside just like it does on a Christmas card.

2. WOULD YOU RATHER SNUGGLE UP WITH A BLANKET OR GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY IN THE SNOW?

Snuggle up in the warm with a blanket and hot water bottle and just appreciate how pretty it looks.

3. HOW DO YOU TYPICALLY CELEBRATE NEW YEARS?

It all depends on my health, if I can go out I do. But I don’t mind staying in either.

4. FAVORITE WINTER FOOD?

Mums stew from the slow cooker with dumplings

5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASONAL DRINK?

Don’t really drink so I would probably have a shloer

6. HOW EARLY DO YOU DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS?

As late as possible without looking like a grinch

7. DO YOU ENJOY THE COLD WEATHER OR DO YOU GET ANXIOUS FOR SPRING TO COME?

I have always suffered with poor circulation so the warmer weather is always welcomed

8. DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL HOLIDAY TRADITIONS?

Make sure I watch The snowman

9. WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF A PERFECT WINTER DAY?

Hot choc, film, an open fire, candles, blankets and my family…and tub of celebrations

10. WHAT’S THE BEST PART ABOUT WINTER?

Better programmes on the TV

11. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE SET IN THE WINTER SEASON? (NOT NECESSARILY A CHRISTMAS MOVIE)

I like watching reruns of all the oldies like only fools and horses, vicar of Dibley and The Royale family (with Ricky Tomlinson)

12. WHAT DO YOU HATE ABOUT WINTER?

Icy paths, Dark mornings and all day fog.

I thought I’d share a game we play with the family after we’ve had our Christmas lunch and let it go down

One person wraps a present up really well with sellotape, say 10 times. You have a pair of mittens or a two single oven gloves and a dice.

you can have as many players as you wish

you each roll the dice, once someone gets a 6 they put on the gloves and try and unwrap one layer of paper at a time (a chocolate coin or sweet could be placed in between each layer. while this is happening the dice should be passed around in turn for people to try get 6.  once someone else gets a 6 then that player with the gloves stops immediately and passes it on to them.

it continues until the main prize is revealed .

Quite an entertaining, fast paced game, sometimes people are frustrated and swear.

I am off to my pre op appointment all day today so I thought I’d just include a couple Christmas photos I’ve taken this year… It’s not that many 🙈

Me with my festive jumper on. I felt obliged to as my mum bought it for me. I don’t wear alot of red but I since its Christmas I have 😂

Us females like doing our nails for the Christmas period, I think I’ve had both of these nail varnishes for about 3 years and only bring them out in December.

This is my friends dog Lexie. Who actually looks adorable in her outfit. Lots of people stopped and some wanted her picture. What a little poser.

It’s amazing what you can find in a charity shop. This very festive mug. With its jacket on or off its very Christmassy.

By the way, I’ve been writing all my blogmas posts on the actual day I post them so there has been no planning as such.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.

6 Days to go 🎄

This is not too festive but it’s wintery so let me off.

This is what kind of outfit I would wear if it wasn’t so damn cold outside this winter.

I’m yet to get myself a pink Teddy coat but really would like one – also one that didn’t cost the earth.

I have actually ordered myself a hooded jumper dress from boohoo so fingers crossed it looks lush.

A nice chunky boot as I can’t walk in heels and I own a few wedge boots so these look different. Hoping to buy these after Christmas.

A plaid scarf never goes out of fashion. I’ve had mine for a few years and wear them every winter.

Love a bobble hat and have this exact one it was a Primark special.

Though today I am sporting a Christmas Jumper just to get the wear out of it.

This Christmas poem i wrote 4 years ago and I share it every year.

‘Christmas is coming

Everybody’s going mad

Spending hours shopping to see what bargins there are to be had

Stuff it I can’t afford it I’ll put it on the plastic card,

Knowing that in the new year problems with money will come and hit them hard

It’s great to see on Christmas Day

Your family smile and cheer

That all that effort just for one day

Is well and truly here

The food is on the table,

Each plate is piled up high,

Lunch has cost a fortune

You can’t help but lie

The day is finally over,

Now all you want to do is cry

Instead you reach for the mulled wine

and a good old mince pie.

New year arrives,

Your credit card bill comes in the post

You nearly can’t bring yourself to open it,

The thing you really have been dreading the most.

Money is very tight,

The repayments are today

You pay the bare minimum,

The electric bill is in sight.

Thinking you don’t know if you can afford to have a little light.

Taking you back to that shopping trip

Where you went completely mad

Here’s some advice so take it

If you don’t you’ll wish you had

Your family and friends will love you

Whether you spent money on them or not

Don’t try and keep up with the Jones’

Just be there at Christmas and remember to smile a lot.

Hope you all get the jist of the poem

and pray that if you are reading this

It doesn’t describe you ‘

A winter pampering

– Put the fake fire video on unless you are lucky enough to have an open flame fire.

– Grab all your pampering bits

-play a festive playlist

– put your face mask on and get in a bath filled with bubbles or your favourite Christmas bath bomb

– After you’ve removed your mask, pour yourself a bit of your favourite tipple or a hot choccie.

– Plaster your feet with some moisturiser put some socks on so you don’t slide about

– Put on your favourite Christmas film

– Grab a tub of chocs or a mince pie and enjoy

– While you’re relaxing feel free to paint your nails. I think red, green, silver or gold are the best colours this time of year and if course a little glitter.

What else would you include in your winter pamper?
