Today it really has felt autumnal, to the point I heard my mum say those magic words
“Hol, shall we put the heating on?”
Autumn is actually my favourite season. I love how you can get nice and cosy under a blanket with the candles and if you’re lucky enough an open fire and watch all the TV you like.
I have even started looking on Pinterest for fashion inspiration for this colder weather so I thought I’d share a few bits I like with you.
There will be more autumn themed posts throughout Sept and October so keep an eye out
Til next time… Much loves
The end of the month is nearly here so I have gathered together some of my favourites of this October.
October is my favourite for two reasons: Its officially autumn and that’s the season where I feel I am most in love with. Although where I live it is taking the leaves a bit longer to change colour but I am patient, they will in their own time I guess. Secondly, it’s my birthday month. I spent it with family and a few days after my friends which means more to me than any presents. Plus the older you get, the less you get, unless your a lucky so and so.
MY FAVOURITE SONG
This song by Jess Glynne gives me all the feels. It’s about not needing makeup to feel beautiful. I grew up plastering myself in the stuff because I felt ugly without. If you need that self-confidence pick me up song this is it.
MY FAVOURITE FOOD
With a birthday you always got to have Cake and alcoholic beverages and in my case, we had a cheese night too. My Nannys favourite cakes were always Mr Kiplings Country Slices so they were bought in memory of her and because they are yummy. One friend bought some cupcakes, I mean who doesn’t love a cupcake? All in all, I put on about 3 or 4 pounds but birthdays are for celebrating anyway.
MY SKINCARE FAVES
I never really fork out on skincare products because I think if it doesn’t do my skin any good its a total waste of money. I was willing to take a gamble as my face had become really dry and my normal stuff wasn’t helping in the slightest. I had a nose on Beauty Bay and I stumbled across Mario Badescu. I had heard about their drying lotion being a hit but I wanted something to do the complete opposite. So these 4 things made their way to my house and so far so good. Been a week or so I’ll keep you in the loop in a later post.
QUOTE OF THE MONTH
This is such a powerful quote, it goes for my brother who I won’t ever see, or speak to again – but i hold so many memories of him that I can treasure forever. This also goes for people that are still with us that maybe we don’t see very often but you have so many stories to tell that are stored up in your mind. Those memories are one of a kind and they are yours to keep.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope your October has been awesome too.
Til next time

Since my birthday is in October it’s always been my favourite season and I love how you can simply slide from summer to the central heating and still feel warm…
The leaves haven’t quite changed colours yet. When one drops down on my head I will finally say autumn is here.
Here are a few essential things that I like to have…I missed out my hot water bottle but that one is with me all year round. Yes I’m slightly odd but hey I don’t mind being an oddington one bit 🙂
- Hot Choc – With all the decorations if you feel like going a bit fancy
- A Snuggly Blanket – Literally stuck to you until next summer
- The Fireplace – Whether it’s a open fire or central heating just the nice feeling of not being cold.
- A spiced candle – Those scents that bring the nostalgia of autumn
- Nights in front of the box – All the films and new series to enjoy
- A Pumpkin – Because of hallowe’en of course. You’re never too old.
- A woolly jumper – The key thing you should have in your wardrobe to get you through the colder months.
- Hat, scarf and gloves – So you can still enjoy being outside but your keeping well wrapped up.
- Wellingtons Boots – To jump in the mound of colourful leaves and big puddles.
What reminds you of Autumn?
See you next time…
As I turn over the calendar to October I can’t help but get a little bit excited.
My Mum and Dad decided to have me in this month, the funny story is… 31 years ago when mum pushed me out they said Well done you’ve had a girl…mum said are you sure? Positive. There are no dangly bits. She was convinced I was going to be Ryan and not Holly.
So yeah as old as I am I still enjoy celebrating my birthday and counting down the days secretly ( childish I know ) 🙊
I adore the autumn time, you get to wrap up in your winter warmers early and go out for walks with such pretty scenery and crunchy leaves
This is my favourite item of clothing at the mo a Primark special £10 baby pink turtleneck…super soft to touch too.
This was the other Sunday afternoon walking off our roast. So lucky in England to have the occasional beautiful day that’s me being sarcastic. Got my phone out and clicked away.
I started Slimming World halfway through October and managed to get slimmer of the week last week. I was so gobsmacked. But happy of course.
This is my favourite find this month on Pinterest it symbolises me as I walk around the house looking very similar 😜
Let’s see what November brings xxx
