Cover me up

0

Don’t you hate it when you wake up and you have dark circles through lack of sleep or that unwanted spot that just lands on your face. I know there are worst things in life, but it’ll make you feel so much more confident if you can conceal them.

So I’ve come up with 4 concealers that are very much raved about and I also have some tips to help

COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION CONCEALER

At £4.19 this is the cheapest one I’m going to mention. You can find it at Boots and Superdrug It really does help conceal the dark circles and definitely helped cover redness but not my spots. Not to say it won’t help yours. It comes in a range of shades too.

REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE CONCEALER

This one is a dupe for another one I’m going to mention that’s a bit pricey, this one is a fraction of the price at £5 from either Superdrug or Beauty Bay. It gives a full coverage which I like. You can get these in two different sizes as well if you tend to use a lot of concealer.

L’ORÉAL INFAILLABLE MORE THAN CONCEALER

This one is new out and I’ve been using it for about a month and I don’t have any intention of switching back. It has concealed my dark circles, my troublesome spots and any redness I get. It is £9.99 but I’d rather spend a tiny bit more to get a good result and fingers crossed it’ll last a few months.

TARTE SHAPE TAPE

At a steep £23. 00 the Tarte Shape Tape concealer does all the revolution concealer does but with a brand which all products come with a hefty price tag. I believe you can only get Tarte from America so people are selling them for £31.00 on Ebay. You’re silly if you wanna spend that and you don’t even know if it’s a knock off.

Those colour correction sets that come with all those different colours in them have uses for different skin complaints so I’ve found this down below that explains which colour helps what.

Also here is the places to apply your concealer to get the best results.

I also put a stripe down my nose only because I find if I don’t my foundation rubs off.

I hope you found this post informative and let me know if you have tried any others I haven’t named and you think they are worth a try.

MY FEBRUARY FAVOURITES

2

You know what I’ll hold my hands up and say i nearly forgot to do my monthly favourites, think because we only get 28 days in February this year.

So of course I had some faves so here goes.

AIRLINE THE TV SHOW

Do you recognise these from back about 15 years ago at least. It was always on the tele and i enjoyed it then, then i found out that cbs reality on freeview had it on catch up so I’ve been binge watching Jane, Leo and Katrina.

SONG OF THE MONTH

I haven’t got a bloody clue how to pronounce her name but it’s been in my head lately its called don’t feel like crying, i guess it doesn’t help they play it on the radio loads. Its got a good beat, that’s why i think i like it.

NEW SET OF WHEELS

Not everyone will understand why it’s a favourite, but I’ve got an electric wheelchair for good weather and the other one was on loan. So money I’d saved at Christmas I’d kept to buy this…wasn’t too expensive but i only want it for A to B. Its so pretty in purple and it helps my mum alot because its lightweight.

BEAUTY FAVOURITE

I have literally had this for 3 days and I’m so in love with it. I always look for mascara that gives the falsie look without having to spend a fortune, Milani came through with this one on Beauty Bay for £10. Highly recommend it.

As always i leave you with my favourite quote

Hope your February has been full of memories 😘

Sunday Pamper Session

3

Guess who was up before it was necessary on a Sunday morning?

That would be me

So I decided as soon as my body would function that I would give myself a little pampering.

7th Heaven cucumber peel off mask

I grabbed a mask I knew wasn’t going to be messy and drip everywhere so this one was the perfect option. I applied it while the bath was running and then removed it when I had got out of it. There’s just something so satisfying about peeling off a mask and trying to get it in one full swoop.

You really can’t beat a bubble bath, I used to love one when I was younger trouble was that I had to share it with my brother…then we would see who could get the most impressive bubble beard. Craig usually won hands down.

For a while, I have been using this for shower gel/ body foam and it makes bubbles like no ones business so if I don’t intend on soaking for ages then I use just this.

Imperial Leather Foamburst – Unicorn Marshmallow

There are a few different scents in the range and are usually on offer so I suggest trying a few.

Next, It was exfoliation time and I had to ask Mother dearest to be of assistance as my arms aren’t like Mr Tickles and can’t reach my back.

The Body Shop Vanilla Marshmallow Body Scrub

The Vanilla Marshmallow Body Scrub was part of a set exclusively at Christmas from The Body Shop. It smells bloody beautiful. Over on their website, I think they may have a few bits left in the sale.

After I got out the bath and peeled off the face mask, I still found in my t-zone that I was a bit dry so I grabbed yet another scrub. I have been trying it out for a few months, well since my birthday in October.

Mario Badescu Strawberry Face Scrub

This brand is usually found on Beauty Bay. If you are lucky and find out when they have a sale on you can get a few products from the range without hurting your purse.

Lastly, I grabbed my facial mist and gave my face a light spritz.

The Body Shop Facial Mist

I love using this cos it wakes you up and leaves your skin smelling lovely too.

This evening I am going to tackle the brows with my trusty tweezers and hopefully won’t take out too many and end up having to pencil them in every day.

Tweezerman Mini Tweezers

Your eyebrows shape your face so you really want to pay attention when you are either plucking/waxing them.

Anyway, there you go my Sunday morning totally unplanned but lovely all the same.

Hope you’ve all had a lovely Sunday.

Signature beauty products

1

You know the make up that you wear pretty much every day, the one that feels like your second skin? The ones you buy again and again. Those that if they were to be discontinued you’d have a mini meltdown.

That’s your signature beauty products

I thought I’d empty out my make up bag and tell you about mine.

FOUNDATION

I have been using Max Factor Facefinity it’s a 3 in 1 primer, concealer and foundation all in one – light ivory to be exact cos I’m a pale peach.

CONCEALER

Not found one yet that’s done better (yes I know Tarte do one but not in my price range) than my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. My dark circles and spots are invisible underneath this.

MASCARA

I go between two. One which is the Maybelline Lash Sensational waterproof. I use these on days I know we will have rain and I may be hormonal. The other one is my Givenchy Mini Noir Couture Volume I had from the glamour beauty club. It gives wow volume I love it.

EYELINER

For a few years now this has been in my life and it stands pretty much whatever you throw at it. My Mac Pro Longwear Fluidline Gel Liner. It’s a little more pricier than one you buy from one of the brands in Boots or Superdrug but it lasts forever.

LIPSTICK

It took me forever to try find a lipstick shade that suited me and that stayed on my lips after eating/drinking and even kissing if I’m lucky. It’s only a couple of quid and it’s a Primarni special. It’s in between a brown, pink and a neutral. One I highly recommend buying.

BRONZER

I have to say over the years that Natural Collection was going in Boots nothing came close to giving my face a light bronzing than the pearls. One swirl of your brush in it and it was just enough to do your whole face without looking super caked. Sad that they have discontinued the brand but I thought ahead and got a couple. Benefits Hula bronzer is ok for contouring but I rarely do that cos I don’t have the nack of doing it.

There you have it…My faves.

What would be yours?

Thanks for reading, I’ll be back tomorrow.

Til then

Look into my eyes

9

I’ve used the title of this blog for a few reasons.

One – It’s the lyrics that start off my favourite song. Everything i do by Bryan Adams.

Two – I have two tone eyes. It’s only developed over the last few years. It’s what makes me different.

Three – I’ve done a little simple eye look i wanted to show you.

I used my freebie from the glamour beauty club the Givenchy mini noir couture volume mascara and then my Mac fluidline gel liner.

It separates all the lashes and adds the prefect amount of volume as you can see.

I have always worn black liner on my fluidline. I guess it’s my signature look.

Then i used the Maybelline eye studio diamond glow eyeshadow quad. I picked the pinky lilac shade (Second one in).

I’m not that adventurous with eyeshadow always keep it quite simple. This was £1.99 from fragrance direct so it was an absolute bargain.

I may one day put some YouTube tutorials on and follow them and maybe surprise myself.

GLAMOUR BEAUTY CLUB – BEAUTY PRODUCT REVIEWS

0

About 6 months ago i had no idea about the glamour beauty club. I saw it on one of my blogger friends instagram and thought I’d probably get rejected from applying because i had only 500 followers on there.

Never think that way because i have been sent about 5 or 6 things so far from the glamour beauty club such as

  • Hawaiian aftersun
  • Wilkinsons sword shaver
  • Givenchy mini mascara and tester perfume
  • L’ocitane face oil
  • Maybelline lipstick

As you can see they send high end as well as drug store brands too.

The best thing about it is these things you get sent aren’t even out in the shops or online yet so you are chosen to try and give your opinion on the product.

If you are interested in this then don’t hesitate in being part of the gang.

Heres where to click you will thank me.

Enjoy your beauty bits and if you reply to the email with your thoughts too it’ll let them know you still want to receive products from them in the future.

The Body Shop Treats

7

Where i live we have a outlet store of The Body Shop. I didn’t actually know until i asked the other day that if they aren’t a full price store it will take 18 months to 2 years to get the stock that’s a new range for instance. I think that’s shocking.

Anyways, i was having a quick nosey round a few shops before my hospital app last Thursday and thought oooo lets have a nosey round The Body shop and here are the few goodies i picked up.

Ok, anybody who doesn’t like the smell of banana this wont interest you. They have a new banana range with Shampoo, conditioners, body yogurts and body butters. I went for two lots of the body butter. They were £6 each and small enough to put in your handbag.

In this hot weather anything sprayed on your face is refreshing. I picked this strawberry face mist up and it smells bloody beautiful. It’s mini so you can fit it in your pocket if needs be. If they ever bring out a bigger one i am purchasing it. Again this was £6. So kind to your purse.

Lastly i was informed i could pick up something for free on the table to the side of the till. So i looked though the different scents of the hand cream and this Almond milk and honey took my fancy. You literally only need the smallest bit to go a long way. It’s so moisturising and will last forever, i mean a long time.

There you go there were my little treats to myself.

What’s your favourite product from The Body Shop?

make up essentials

I won’t forget the day I put my make up bag in Debenhams toilet by the hand basin, only to touch up my lippy and concealer, and walked out and totally forgot to pick it up. Went back and it was gone…jammy sods. I reckon there was about 70 pounds worth and there was a lot of makeup in the bag…we are going back maybe 8 years ago. I was gutted. Now I only take these essentials out if needed from this beautiful makeup bag. Which if I may add, was from Primark for a fiver. Yes, 5 pounds. it looks much more expensive I think.

Ok, so I will take it from left to right in the picture above

make up revolution concealer REVOLUTION FOUNDATION STICK

At the moment I have been using this foundation stick which I think is really good for your purse it’s one of the cheapest you can find in Superdrug at £5 they come in a range of shades and you really don’t need to plaster yourself in it as it gives great coverage.

I will be doing a foundation post in a few weeks and this one will be featured in it too so keep your eyes peeled

benefit high beam min

BENEFIT HIGH BEAM HIGHLIGHTER

Not one to go super silly with a gurt shiny face I chose a mini from the Benefit website, just to try it out. It comes with a tiny brush type applicator which is great because you can apply and much or as little as you like. It’s perfect…and it’ll fit in any size bag no matter how small it is. This was £10.50 and I believe the full-size one is £22.

s-l500

CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICK

There are days when I really don’t want to draw attention to my lips and that’s when the chubby stick comes in handy. Just adding a little bit of colour and moisture to them. Clinique are selling these at £11.99 for 1 and £35.00 for a trio. In my outlet store, the trio was £24.99. I didn’t pay it was a gift from my Mum. This pink shade is called Woppin Watermelon. I always love it when a lippy has a funky name to it.

conceal and define

REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE

I am always on the lookout for a concealer that is going to hide my dark circles and cover up any blemishes and redness on my face. For a small price of £4 I really am impressed with it, I got the palest shade possible which I think is C1 and seems to be the popular shade as its always in and out of stock. The only disappointment is that it ran out too quickly for my liking. I’ll go a bit more gingerly with it next time. This is exclusive to Superdrug or the Revolution website.

hoola bronzer mini

BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER

If you are a makeup fan you will definitely heard of Hoola by Benefit. Used with the correct brushes you can use it for either bronzing your whole face or contouring your cheeks etc. At the moment I am sweeping a bit of it all over my face as I am gradually getting a tan on my body so my face really needs to match. A mini Hoola retails at £10.63 and a full size is £20.83. as I don’t go too heavy on my make up the mini is ample enough for me.

2018-06-04

MAYBELLINE LASH SENSATIONAL WATERPROOF MASCARA

This is one thing I do shop about to try and find the one that gives my lashes the desired effect, I am always being commented on my eye colour (green) so I figure that’s my best feature and to make the best of it, so I like framing them with this lovely mascara. It doesn’t clump the lashes which is always an added bonus. I picked the waterproof one because i am either crying with laughter, crying at something sad on the tv or my eyes are watering from the sun. At £8.99 I think it beats some of the more expensive ones out there I have tried. in the past.

Its always best to nosey around and see what you can get for the best price and think do you really need the big one or could you do with a mini.

There you have it my 6 favourites make up products that I use at the moment, as you know with new ranges being brought out all the time this could all change in the months to come but for now, I am loving these.

Do you have a favourite product you can’t go anywhere without?

Thanks for stopping by

Until next time

Clinique Chubby Sticks

2

I actually went out yesterday shopping what felt like the first time in forever. I guess because we have such luxuries as online shopping the high street sometimes gets neglected.

So we happened to stumble into this makeup store and I was only nosing and didn’t intend on buying anything as I am a bit like miss money penny I look after my money usually and only spend if I really do need it….or need cheering up.

well, these just jumped off the shelf and straight into my hands.

img_3438

They are Clinique chubby sticks I was completely sold when I saw the shades being a total pinkaholic it was a 4 gone conclusion they were coming home with me.

It was my first thing I had ever had from Clinique apart from the odd freebie in a magazine. It was in an Outlet store so the price was £24 instead of £35 so it worked out £8 pounds a chubby stick so, to be honest, it wasn’t that bad for the purse. Plus it’s not as if I buy high-end products all the time.

img_3437

  • So you have 05 Plushest Punch which is an intense colour and is inbetween a pink and a red
  • Then 06 Woppin’ Watermelon which is a toned down pink so you have some colour but not too in your face.
  • Finally 03 Budding Blossom which is more of a pink shine so for those days when you just want a tiny moisture and pinkiness

I am really impressed with them and can’t wait to wear them more.

Hope you are all having a fab weekend so far. Thanks for stopping by 💋

The Beauty Tag

0

I haven’t done a beauty related post lately so i thought what would be a good one and i stumbled across The Beauty Tag.

There is 30 questions but some didn’t really apply so i left them out.

so here we go with the questions…..

  1. Do you remember your first makeup item? I do I believe it was the Rimmel stick concealer – when the spots first started to appear
  2. Describe your perfect mascara? One that gives length, volume and doesn’t clump. My favourite at the moment is Maybelline lash sensational. It works a treat.
  3. What kind of coverage do you prefer in a foundation? I’d have to say full because I have problematic skin I like one that covers my imperfections without clogging my pores. I mix Revlon Color Stay & Loreal True Match to get the right shade – both in ivory.
  4. Favourite high end brand? I would have to say Benefit/MAC if they count as high end I tend to stick to the high street. Its kinder to my purse.
  5. What cosmetic brands have you always wanted to try but still haven’t? I would have to say Too Faced as I love the creativity of their palettes and the lipsticks are always in amazing shades.
  6. Favorite drugstore brand? I would have to say Loreal as I seem to have a lot of their products in my beauty drawer
  7. Do you wear fake eyelashes? No, I don’t need to my eyelashes have always been long enough not to need them and a stroke of the right mascara is enough for the volume.
  8. Is there any kind of makeup you can’t leave the house without? Eyeliner or concealer and sometimes lippy depending if it is a long lasting one or not.
  9. What is your most cherished beauty product? My MAC Fluid line Gel Liner.
  10. How often do you shop for makeup? As and when I need it…maybe once a month and then I can treat myself a little.
  11. Do you have a “beauty budget” or do you spend freely? I am a bit thrifty. I like to find a product that does the job of a high-end product for half the price.
  12. Do you ever consider taking makeup classes? Maybe one day if I really felt the need to but why not just look on youtube for tutorials instead.
  13. Do you have a favourite place to shop for makeup? I would have to say Superdrug as they always have a huge selection or if I did want to treat myself to a high-end product then its Debenhams.
  14. Do you like trying new skincare products or do you keep a certain routine? I tend to stick to a routine so I don’t upset my skin too much – sounds like it has feelings.
  15. What brand do you think has the best packaging? Too Faced without a doubt
  16. Which celebrity always has great makeup? Pretty much all of them as they have their own make-up artists.
  17. Favourite Beauty Guru? Jaclyn Hill of course…she’s talented and she’s got attitude as well.
  18. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup? I wouldn’t say clumsy I just don’t have the patience to do all the fancy eyeshadow looks that you see floating about the web so I stick to simple looks.
  19. What do you apply first, concealer or foundation? Concealer first under my eyes, down my nose and on any spots I can see, then foundation and back in with concealer if needed.
  20. What do you love about makeup? I love how you can do lots of different looks with it and it makes you feel better when you put it on – if you haven’t smudged anywhere in the process.

Anybody that fancies doing it can copy and paste from mine, it’ll be fun to see your answers.

Til next time..

have a fab start to the weekend
