Pastel French Manicure

Summer months call for summer nails so that’s what i decided on at the weekend and here is what i used to achieve the look i finished up with.

img_9907

– Summer Sling

– Pink flamingo

– Mint cooler

All from Boots Seventeen range and i think it was on a 3 for 2 offer at the time too.

img_9880

Since i only had 3 colours and 5 fingers i had to try and decide how to make it look effective and this was what i went for.

For the tips i used different brands as i just made do with what i already had.

– Emerald Tropic (Seventeen)

– Pump up the purple (Rimmel)

– Kiss me on my tulips (O.P.I)

Here you go my  Pastel French Manicure with my Primark plant modelling too.

Throwback: Beauty Products of the 90s

Since i spent most of my teenage years in the 90s and it was when i first started experimenting with different beauty products…i wasn’t allowed to touch my mums small collection of lipsticks. Mum is a natural beauty and doesn’t wear much slap 🙂

Lets take a trip down old memory lane and see what i found/remembered:

Rimmel Hide The Blemish Concealer

My first item of make up i owned that i just used to apply under my eyes and on my spots i must of looked a right plank. I think that Rimmel still make the exact same concealer.

Bourjois Volume Clubbing Blue Mascara

Blue mascara was the rage i really dunno why as it looked bloody hideous well it did on me but because i wanted to fit in i wore it hideously well.

Wella Shaders & Toners

I bought these literally every week as my mum used to say your not old enough to start messing about with your hair. They were Cheap too so spending a little pocket money on them was well worth it.

The Signature Scent

In my school bag was always a Charlie Pink. i didn’t understand when people had the red or the black one. Guess my obsession for pink started then.

Every Christmas my mum would slip a Tommy Girl into my stocking it was tradition and my brother had the male equivalent.

The exclamation was what my sister used to wear i wasn’t a fan but when i had forgot my Charlie it was better than nothing.

All three of these are still available to buy shows that some things never go out of fashion.

Johnsons Holiday Skin

I can’t help but laugh. I had gone a bit silly with it as i thought it was idiot proof but i had started gradually doing it on my arms and then distributing to other areas of my body only for it to be patchy and streaky as hell. Mum had to scrub me to get it off. Lets just say it went in the bin once used…Never again.

Johnsons Baby Powder

The days before Batiste Dry Shampoo came good old Talc. On the days when i just couldn’t be assed to wash my hair so i supported a slap head ponytail and a fluffy full fringe what an attractive look.

I blame the products for my mishaps…if they hadn’t of made them i wouldn’t have looked so silly.

But hey lessons are learnt growing up and the 90s was memorable for sure.

I absolutely love doing my eyes up and the eyeliner and mascara if not taken off fully leaves me with beautiful panda eyes. However since using this Camomile Gentle Eye Make Up Remover I have not had any dark circles from make up only the ones I support from being tired. Perfect addition to anyones night routine.

I am using this like its going out of fashion at the moment.  I have been suffering with bad breakouts and tea tree as you know is the perfect medicine for them. I bought this in a Tea Tree Rescue Kit a few months ago so its coming in handy. You can use it whatever age. Spots aren’t just for the teenagers anymore. Stress and hormones have a lot to answer for.

I am a huge lover of Lavender its such a fresh and relexing scent and I saw this fragrance oil and thought I know what to use it for i’ll put it in my oil burner. So when I have a bath and fancy staying in there a while I will put this on and let the aroma circulate the room. There are so many other things you can use fragrance oils for which I will touch on in another post.

In one of my favourites you would have seen I am a big fan of this gorgeous Banana Shampoo so much so I bought it in bulk. Well it was 2 for £7 so it was rude not to take advantage of the offer. My mum uses it too so its a win win. We both have highlighted hair and it definitely brightens up our hair too.

Do you have a favourite from The Body Shop?

Pretty Nails 💅🏼

img_8420

I fancied giving my nails a quick pampering and had a nosey in my vanity case…… This where I keep all the nail varnishes I’ve picked up and are still useable. Nothings worse than finding one you used to love and its separated.

The 3 I picked to get the look above which was really quite easy were:

Rimmel/ Rita Ora -Plump up the purple

OPI – Kiss me on my tulips

Loreal – le French manicure liner

Firstly I pained the ring fingers pink with the OPI Kiss me on my tulips because we have all done it before when we want to do this kind of look and accidently paint them all the same colour.

Next I paint the rest of my nails with Rimmels Plump up the purple which usually I don’t go for dark colours but thought why not.

Last of all I take Loreal le French manicure pen and do random dots on each nail to give it that je ne sais quoi.

I really like the look and it took all of 10 minutes to do.

My Top 5 Spot Treatments

I have suffered with bad skin right from the age of 11 so I have tried quite an number of things on the market to try and combat them. Sometimes they just won’t budge on their own that’s when some spot treatment comes in handy. So I went nosing in my skincare basket and found the ones I generally keep going back to.

The Body Shop –Tea Tree Anti Imperfection Daily Solution and Flawless BB Cream

15970788_10154997789649479_116330210_n

This is the one I am using at the moment and would recommend it over and over again. it has made my skin come back to normal after a horrendous monthly breakout. It has a pipette to get just the right amount. Tea tree helps dry up the spot and diminish it too. Then on days when I don’t want to put a full coverage make up I use The Body shops Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream in the shade fair. it doesn’t clog up your pores and helps your skin heal at the same time.

Simple Spotless Skin Anti-blemish Moisturiser

15970186_10154997789499479_472809780_n

This moisturiser is best applied at the beginning of the day to let it soak into your skin and carry on working throughout the day. With the calming agent of Chamomile and Zinc your face will thank you for treating it with such kindness. It is also antibacterial so it will fight off against any other unwanted dirt particles wanting to get a load of your face.

Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Blemish Stick

15978509_10154997789369479_1267677668_n

This is one of the older products I have for my spots and it is just handy to put in your handbag when you are off for the day/evening and you can’t carry too much in your bag. I don’t think it gets rid of your spots as fast as you may like them too but it does help them clear up/dry them out.

Garnier Pure Action -2 in 1 Anti-spot Roll on

15942207_10154997789189479_483991302_n-2

When you team this anti- spot roll on with The Body Shop BB Cream it works lovely as it has a concealer like texture and aids skins recovery too. I was dubious if this one would cover spots as it was in a roll on but it does.

That’s my Top 5 Spot Treatments…when you get in a spot of bother I hope one of these may help you too.
