My Monthly Favourites For December

First of all i want to congratulate myself.

I’ve actually managed to stick to a whole year of writing my monthly favourites…small accomplishments and all that.

Anyways lets get on with this months faves.

FAVOURITE SONG

Play by Jax Jones and Years and years. It’s one I’ve very recently discovered and i absolutely love it.

FAVOURITE FOOD

These were things I’d never tried before but without a doubt I’d have it again and again – obviously had sprouts before but not with anything added to them. Stollen is a German cake i think with marzipan, fruit and other yummy things and looks a bit like fruit loaf but it’s so much more fancier.

FAVOURITE APPS

I Really enjoy my instagram stories and it’s good to try stand out. I think last month i done pocket video which can be used anywhere on social. But these 3 are especially for Instagram. Worth downloading to have a play around.

FAVOURITE QUOTE

The quote speaks for itself and doesn’t really need any explanation.

So December is nearly over and it’s been one hell of a month. Roll on the new year i say.

I do hope you all still aren’t eating turkey sandwiches.

(Got to be a long standing Christmas joke)

TTFN – ta ta for now for all who were thinking what on earth does that mean

A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM ME TO YOU

If you are reading this on Christmas Eve i’m glad you’ve got 5 mins to yourself to unwind before it all goes mad. I thought i would record a little message for you all.

A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM ME TO YOU

I know that Christmas isn’t always a happy time for all.

I am trying to get as festive as I can, but the closer it gets to Christmas Day the more I think about my dear brother who won’t be here to celebrate. He loved acting silly at Christmas and I have fond memories of when we were younger. I hope a robin will pop in our back garden tomorrow ( Christmas Day) then I will find comfort and know his spirit is near.

So i will leave you with this playlist i found with a few of my favourite Christmas songs in it

I’ll be writing here again in a few days so keep your eyes open

Enjoy a little sing song or a dance about the house

til then my lovelys have a Happy Christmas xxx

Christmas is coming – Everyone is going mad

This Christmas poem i wrote 4 years ago and just found it…

Christmas is coming

Everybody’s going mad

Spending hours shopping to see what bargins there are to be had

Stuff it I can’t afford it I’ll put it on the plastic card,

Knowing that in the new year problems with money will come and hit them hard

It’s great to see on Christmas Day

Your family smile and cheer

That all that effort just for one day

Is well and truly here

The food is on the table,

Each plate is piled up high,

Lunch has cost a fortune

You can’t help but lie

The day is finally over,

Now all you want to do is cry

Instead you reach for the mulled wine

and a good old mince pie.

New year arrives,

Your credit card bill comes in the post

You nearly can’t bring yourself to open it,

The thing you really have been dreading the most

Money is very tight,

The repayments are today

You pay the bare minimum,

The electric bill is in sight.

Thinking you don’t know if you can afford to have a little light.

Taking you back to that shopping trip

Where you went completely mad

Here’s some advice so take it

If you don’t you’ll wish you had

Your family and friends will love you

Whether you spent money on them or not

Don’t try and keep up with the Jones’

Just be there at Christmas and remember to smile a lot.

Hope you all get the jist of the poem

and pray that if you are reading this

It doesn’t describe you

Let’s get festive

Now that it’s December I’m trying to get myself into a christmassy kind of mood.

I don’t frown on anyone who wants to start getting their festivities going soon after Halloween.

We are all different.

So i I found out some red nail varnish and glitter top coat. I rarely wear the colour only around December so it makes it a little more special.

The christmas songs have already been on the radio a good few weeks. So i couldn’t help singing along to them.

One of my favourites that really gets me in the mood and singing is this one by The Pogues

Once we get the decorations down from the loft i will definitely be more like The Elf and less like The Grinch.

Here’s also wishing we have a bit of snow because snow at Christmas time is just magical.

Til next time

My Christmas Wish To You

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I will be back shortly after Christmas to do a few posts before we start the new year…

I’ve been blogging every day lately and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. However I do need to sort out a schedule of some sort for 2018.

Eat as much as you can without popping on Christmas Day. It’s the only time you can get away with it without someone saying haven’t you ate enough already.

Spend it with those that matter the most. It’s not all about presents it’s about love. Well it is for me. Presents are just a bonus.

Much love and enjoy xx

Have A Happy Holly Day

I’m sorry but I couldn’t resist getting my light box out and adding it to the festive decorations.

When I was younger I would always sing that song and insist it was Holly day instead of holiday. Still makes me laugh now.

It’s just over a week until Christmas Day and I’m going to hold my hands up and say that I’m not really ready for it. I have bought a few pressies and the rest will be rush buying a few days before.

With my nieces and nephew it’s more magical when I see them at Christmas as they still believe that Santa brought them it all and not their Mum and Dad and when you’re younger Christmas is so much more exciting.

Ever since I was 7 and my brother broke the news that the Father Christmas at the party we were at was actually Dad. It kind of burst my bubble and I had to keep my mouth shut to those who still believed.

I however am looking forward to spending Christmas Day with my Mum, Brother, Auntie, Uncle and Cousins. I’ll be the youngest there unless Craig my brother brings Daisy who’s 16 months and quite knowing.

We always have our lunch quite late say 3pm whilst listening to the Queen do her speech and then play some games that always have prizes if you win. Alcoholic beverages are out late afternoon – and nibbles and a buffet tea. Some of us go and watch the soaps as they are always good on Christmas Day. There’s always the record button though which there never was back in the day ooo apart from a VHS.

Then it’s Boxing Day – off to the sales if you’re interested in saving a pound or two or carry on the festive period by having a knees up with friends.

There you go blink and it’s over… Don’t forget it’s ok to Eat, drink and be merry without feeling guilty.

Thanks for reading – go have some fun
