A winter pampering

– Put the fake fire video on unless you are lucky enough to have an open flame fire.

– Grab all your pampering bits

-play a festive playlist

– put your face mask on and get in a bath filled with bubbles or your favourite Christmas bath bomb

– After you’ve removed your mask, pour yourself a bit of your favourite tipple or a hot choccie.

– Plaster your feet with some moisturiser put some socks on so you don’t slide about

– Put on your favourite Christmas film

– Grab a tub of chocs or a mince pie and enjoy

– While you’re relaxing feel free to paint your nails. I think red, green, silver or gold are the best colours this time of year and if course a little glitter.

What else would you include in your winter pamper?

BLOGMAS #14

These are my top 4 films I enjoy watching at Christmas which also give me nostalgic vibes.

Gremlins

This time of year Gremlins is either on prime or Netflix or if you’re lucky on normal TV. Think I was about 7 or 8 when I first watched it and being scared shitless for at least 6 months that one would be living somewhere in the house. Gizmo was super cute though.

The Snowman

I think since I was little I have watched The Snowman every Christmas. Its like a tradition now. I remember wishing that when we ever got snow the snowmen we made would go ‘walking in the air’ with us too. One was hoping ūüôą

Love Actually

Well actually I enjoy this film all year round. But it has a Christmas theme to it. There’s comedy, romance and eye candy. What else could you ask for in a film.

The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe

Wow I love thinking of how magical this film was. We always tried to get to Narnia via mums walk in wardrobe but it never happened so it was playing make believe for us. My favourite characters in the film were Mr Tumnus, Edmund and Aslan the Lion. There was when I was younger the cartoon version before they made the chronicles of Narnia both amazing and mesmerising to watch.

What are your favourites?

Oh yes its Friday night

Hey Hey, its Friday.

I actually don’t mind staying in on a Friday night, or a Saturday come to think of it. I think as you get older you go past caring about going out on the razz every weekend.

I’m going to make my Friday night a nostalgic one. Cos i love memories i can look back on. So here’s my plans.

I’ve got 10 things i hate about you, cos who didn’t swoon over Heath singing your too good to be true can’t take my eyes off of you back in the 90s.

Then Billy Elliot, i love the how it’s full of controversy and it tells a wonderful story. Julie Walters is so funny in it too.

Finally Muriels Wedding. It’s such a classic and me and my friend Lou used to do the Waterloo dance in her living room until we had the moves to a T.

I found my diary from 10 years ago and i know this will be a banger to read as i remember the boyfriends and my clubbing days were quite something to write about so i look forward to reading that.

Then I’m gonna put a face mask on too just so i feel a bit more relaxed.

If i can’t sleep i may get started on my scrap book, i have only used 4 pages in it so far but really wanna make it something rather interesting to flip through when it’s finished.

What do you like doing on a Friday night?

My May Favourites

As I am writing this there are 2 days of May left,

It’s been a lovely one especially for the glorious weather we’ve had… I have actually got a little tan coming on.

Here’s what has also made me happy this month.

LOVERDOSE PERFUME

diesel-loverdose-parfemova-voda-s-rozprasovacem

This has always been my number one perfume. I reckon I’ve been wearing it on and off for about 6 years. The bonus this month is that I went into Boots to get some toothpaste and happened to catch a glimpse of this in the perfume cabinet. Normally it retails for ¬£37.00 and it was on sale for ¬£29.99. Safe to say it went straight in my bag.

MY MAY PLAYLIST

These are my top 10 songs that I’ve been loving lately. When they come on the radio I can’t help but sing along. Normally on Spotify I am trying to find songs that take me down memory lane but I thought I would listen to more recent hits and I’m impressed.

DISTRESSED DENIM JACKET

20180528_2217557213673163304431435.jpg

I used to have a cropped denim coat a few years back but then I gained a little bit of weight and had to donate it. I went nosing on all the online shops I could think of to try and find a nice one and this beaut was on ASOS. It is now out of stock so I am so relieved that I got it when I did. Since I bought it if I need a jacket its the one I’ve been grabbing every time. Safe to say I love it.

THE KISSING BOOTH

The Kissing Booth was on my recommended films to watch on Netflix. I decided to watch the trailer and I thought it was quite funny so I watched it. I was quite blown away by how emotional I got. They really thought about the storyline. Its more of a coming of age into adulthood type film but at 32 I must say it had me interested from start to end. I won’t tell you what happened but it’s about a girl, her best guy friend and his hunky brother.

FLOW FREE

xlqxz.jpg

I am not one who really plays games but I needed something that was going to be a distraction when a panic attack struck. I stumbled across this game called Free Flow. As you can see above the aim of the game is that you have to connect the same colour dots without interrupting the flow of the rest. It’s one of those games you can easily get lost in and addicted to. I have it on my laptop, my kindle and my phone. It’s definitely one to try.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

c60d542467a697046b281fee4976ef73

I always like to include a quote that gets you thinking and has meaning behind it and after seeing this one I thought this ones really good I’ll use it here. This one is telling you that no matter what gets your back up or gets you down, if you make the right choices everything will turn out just fine.

Thanks for stopping by to read my post

They’ll have you smiling, laughing and crying

All of us have those films that we watch over and over again…

No matter how you are feeling, you put them on and they do all sorts to your emotions. They could tug at your heartstrings, make you laugh, and be super relatable too.

I have put together a small list of mine

you can probably see a theme…

Pretty Woman

I mean who wouldn’t want to meet a gorgeous silver fox who turns your life around, you fall in love with him and just by chance he climbs up the side of the building to say will you be mine.

Now and Then

If you grew up in the 90s you will know this legendary film. Its 4 friends all different in their own way growing up, finding the meaning of life, boys and friendship. It’s one I’ll always love til I’m old and wrinkly.

Dirty Dancing

I would hope that if I was to jump up into someone’s arms they would do the lift. I really love everything about the film, the acting, the songs and the quotes – nobody puts baby in a corner. Damn right and nobody puts Holly in a corner either. ha ha.

Notting Hill

Cheeky but oh so lovely Hugh Grant with Julia Roberts, I am a fan of hers if you couldn’t tell. Its a funny film but also shows that infact someone with a high profile status can fall in love with the average norm or whatever your name may be.

Bridget Jones

The first one hands down will always be a favourite. Bridget is one lucky lady having Mark Darcy swooning over her. This is me and my best friends go to film…we use the quotes to make each other laugh. It’s a film that can really be enjoyed no matter how young or old you are.

The Bodyguard

I love singing along to this film so much. It has my full attention for the full few hours its on. Whitney had that sass about her and those eyes of ‘Farmer’. If you haven’t ever watched this film are you even human?

My Sisters Keeper

There’s always that one film that you love but it makes you cry loads and this is mine. It’s a true eye opener about life with a terminal illness and what a whole family goes through and not just the sufferer. It was such a beautiful film and will always be the one to grab when I feel like getting a bit emosh.

What are your favourites

– New or old?

Thanks for reading, til next time…

Things I loved in December

As we come to the end of the year it brings me to that time of the month where i reflect on a few things that I’ve been loving in December.

Without further ado, let’s get started…

Paloma Faith – Guilty

You know one of those songs you hear and you like it so much you play it all the bloody time…this is one of them, I absolutely love it.

The funny thing is for years I have been calling her PAMOLA.

Surely I cant be the only one that has made that mistake.

The little big things by Henry Fraser

After seeing Henry on Jonathan Ross telling his very inspirational story and seeing what amazing talent he had after breaking his spinal cord and is now paralysed from the shoulder down it definitely pulled on my heartstrings.

To hear he had a memoir out with his story and copies of his art on some of the pages inside had me wanting to go buy it and then when I saw it was half price in WHSMITH for £6.49 I leapt at the chance. Its a must have.

Gremlins

When it comes to Christmas films I tend to go for the really old ones and Amazon Prime came to the rescue with one of my childhood favourites – The Gremlins.

It had me still cringing at the point when they go from cute ones like Gizmo and then transform into the torturous gremlins. I am not one for scary films so i still went to bed leaving a light on. Then my nephew came over and we had to watch it all over again. This gif below is one of my favourite parts where they are tricking Mrs Deagal to then send her full pelt out the window on her stairlift.

Thank goodness they aren’t actually real.

Dooleys

Dooleys_Toffee

This will always be my favourite tipple and this month has been an excuse to¬†have a little bit more. This is the only thing alcoholic i drink actually as it doesn’t seem to affect me too much. If you are ever going to sample it a few cubes of ice is my recommendation.

If you have a sweet tooth you’ll possibly like a drop of Dooleys.

Lastly…

Spending time with my family goes without saying really…

I am so lucky that my family all live pretty near so ts never long before we see each other. There’s¬†always laughter and that to me is the best medicine there is.

Hope you all had a great Christmas, here’s¬†to a fab new year.

Let’s see what favourites January brings…
