Q and A Time

I absolutely love reading other people’s Q and A’s so I thought I’d do my own. Here are some questions I was asked…

Why did you start blogging?

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve been so in love with writing. So when I found out about blogging and others reading what you write I just had to join in this fab community. Never looked back.

What do you do to unwind?

I think putting on your pjs after a nice soak in the bath, curling up in a blanket with a hot water bottle and some eye candy on Tele is just my idea of unwinding.

What’s one thing you wish you could have told your younger self?

That no matter what life throws at you, don’t let it get you down. Be brave and plod on the best way you can.

How long have you and your best friend been best friends?

Oh my, we have been friends our whole life. Well I’m 8 months older than Jessica but our mums have been great friends even before we were both born. Our nicknames came 15 years later, hers is Trev and Mine is Bertie 🙈

What’s one item of clothing that you will never wear again even if it’s come back in fashion?

Oh that is easy – A shell suit. I mean I adored my pink one at the time but to give my honest opinion… it was a hideous item of clothing and let’s hope they don’t come round a second time. Sorry mum lol.

Do you regret anything?

Yes I regret losing my virginity when I did with who I did. If only I could turn back the clock I’d definitely not have made that mistake. Generally I try and live with no regrets.

Man crush / Woman crush?

Oooo Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz. This hasnt changed for years.

One beauty product you can’t live without?

I’d say foundation simply because you can just put a bit of it on to give you a bit of a colour if you’re looking tired or a bit pale or need to conceal some spots.

Physically, what do you look for in a potential boyf?

I’ve always looked at eyes first they tell so much and a nice jaw line (yeah I know I’m a bit weird)

Your moto in life?

Live Laugh Love

Its something i think we all should do every day. Live life to its fullest, laugh, its the best medicine. Lastly love with all your heart.

I hope you enjoyed finding out a bit more about me.

Til next time my beauts xx

When friends turn toxic

Those friends who say they will be there for you in good times and bad, then when the going gets tough they are nowhere to be seen. If you don’t phone/text them they couldn’t give two hoots what your up to or how you’re doing.

There are also the friends that are nice to your face and bitch about you to others behind your back. You don’t need them, even if you have been friends for years. Friends don’t do that.

Here is a list of toxic people you need to eliminate from your life to make it better for you:

  1. Those who spread negativity
  2. Those who criticize you all the time
  3. Those who waste your time
  4. Those who are jealous
  5. Those who play the victim
  6. Those who don’t care
  7. Those who are self-centred
  8. Those that keep disappointing you

You need to look after yourself and if those people are more of a hindrance than help then you need to say bye-bye. Don’t think you are a horrible person because you’re anything but.

You can choose where you want those memories of them to go, to forget and bin them or to keep them stored away, the choice is yours.

I’ve always been taught to treat people as I want to be treated.

Lets go to the beach

Its a week late but i thought I’d write about it anyways.

Last Friday evening my friend Lee who I’ve known absolute ages phoned and said did i want to go to the beach with him…that’ll be lovely i said.

So off we toddled in his car to a beach down on the coast called Lyme Regis. On the way there Lee was getting anxious as his petrol was low and thought we may get stranded. Luckily there was one that was 20 mins from closing and we filled up there.

Finally we arrived and the sun was still out. I got as close as i could to see a decent enough view of the sea. It was lovely and calm.

I have no idea who those two are but sitting on those pebbles can’t be comfy.

We stopped in this little seaside shop that was selling fudge and me having a sweet tooth couldn’t resist. Lee treated us both to some and because it was starting to rain we got in the car and parked as near as we could to the sea front to still enjoy the experience.

So we sat there chatting watching the rain bounce off the windscreen and see the lights across the sea as it got dark quite quickly when it started to rain. We listened to this playlist nearly all the way through before making our way back.

Can’t beat a bit of cheese especially witb your friend. We laughed at a few of them and said oh my i was this old when this song came out. Even though it wasn’t a day at the beach like most people have i really enjoyed it.

Roll on the next time and the next beach.

What a lovely weekend

Although the weather wasn’t too great i managed to enjoy my weekend.

It started off with a visit from my future sister-in-law Kerry and my cute niece Daisy.

We had some entertainment with all the songs that Daisy is learning at nursery. Shes only 1 and a half I can’t get over how she remembers things and she pronounces my name beautifully now which totally makes me smile.

On Saturday evening I was invited out for a few drinks with some friends as there was some music on at our local pub. It was an excuse to dress up a little. Typical woman I dressed all in black all apart from my boots, which were these pink beauties.

I really had a good time and to top it off at the end of the night i had some cheese and chips. Haven’t had them in years but the takeaway was still open on the journey home so it was rude not to.

It was nice to go out and nobody made me feel crap about being in a wheelchair. Makes me feel more comfortable about going out again of a Friday or Saturday night.

Sunday was a nice pj day with some cheesy films on Netflix and Amazon prime video.

The only downside to the weekend was a biggish spot decided to land on my chin. Never mind that’s what concealer is for.

Hope you all had an awesome weekend

An ideal girly day

So the morning starts with breakfast in bed on a lap tray if lucky bought in by your significant other before he dashes off to work

Once you’ve enjoyed your delicious breakfast you get your ass into the bathroom to start getting ready for the day. Starting with looking after your pearly whites.

Once you jump in the shower your phone rings, you see it’s your best mate so you can’t just leave it so you answer it trying to keep your modesty…even though nobody else is in the house. She wants to meet you so you hop on out.

A text comes through… ‘Are you ready?’

You quickly grab your phone and shoot a snapchat back at her saying won’t take too much longer.

While you are getting ready you can’t help but try that hair do you saw on Facebook or was it YouTube?

you’ve chosen your favourite pair of shoes and you are on out the door at last.

No matter how old you are some things never change and you act just as silly as you did when you were 12 years old.

After a fun-filled afternoon, a spot of shopping and a bite to eat you head on home.

You admire the makeup that’s still on from this morning and then need to take it all off. what a chore.

You make a few to-do lists and then have a nosey on social media. life is good.

When you know you’ll be best friends forever

I haven’t ever met anyone quite like my best friend Jessica…funnily enough I call her Trev and she calls me Bert.

We have been best friends literally our whole lives. Up until we were 11 we went to different schools but luckily our mums were great friends and we’d see each other at weekends.

Secondary school came around and this where we really bonded as friends. We grew up in each other’s pockets, I either stayed at hers or she stayed at mine. We shared secrets, made up funny words (still use them now) also we shared the same sense of humour.

Below is 15 year old us taking the mick out of our English teachers monobrow. Every time he started losing his temper the brow would jump about. It’s still a running joke now when we think our brows are not on fleek.

Trev went off to the navy for about 4 years and Skype wasn’t around then so funny letters were great every week I have a box full of them to laugh at.

We may not see each other every day or every week but most days we will message each other and know that if one needed the other we would be there in a flash.

Below is a photo from the end of last year and it’s one of my favourites. We still leave where we left off even if it was 6 months since we last met up.

We both live different lives but we are still best friends by heart and soul.

My special nugget forever.

We have memories to last a life time and to hold dear.

I hope we are still best friends when we are grey and are struggling to hear 🙂
