A little personal touch

So I bought my laptop in October 2017 and for about 3 months it looked pretty boring on the outside.

For those wondering it’s an Asus Transformer Mini.

So according to my photo album in January 2018 I decided to jazz it up a bit with some stickers I’d found on Google and Pinterest.

It was very much based on social media, blogging, and of course Netflix.

I loved it but after 22 months it started to peel a little and it just didn’t look pretty to me anymore.

So I got some more self adhesive photo paper and this is what it looks like as of today

I love my chick flicks, music, sleep, YouTube, I own a cactus, love a good quote and my cute little niece is called Daisy so that’s why they are on there.

It’s nice to add a bit of character and a personal touch to things.

Fierce Female Friday Week 4

Happy Friday my lovelies. This is last week of Fierce Female Friday. Today we have the lovely Chanelle.

Chanelle is a small town blogger from New Zealand who tends to blog mostly about beauty and lifestyle. She blogs to express her passion for makeup and enjoys interacting with other bloggers.

Here are the Q and A’s

1. What makes you feel powerful?

I feel powerful when I’m able to help someone and share knowledge. Also, wearing bright fuchsia lipstick makes me feel happy and confident – it’s MY colour!

2. What 3 strong women do you look up to?

1. My mum – I am who I am mostly because of her. She has taught me important lessons and has had to go through a lot in life. She brought up two children on her own which can’t have been easy.

2. Shania Twain – I have listened to Shania’s music since I was a young girl. Music makes me happiest and it was an honour to be at Shania’s first ever New Zealand show in 2018 (she even touched my hand). Her life hasn’t always been easy and her attitude to keep fighting and keep going is inspirational.

3. Cheating a little here but Kylie and Dannii Minogue – I cant pick a favourite and I look up to them both! They are proof that hard work and determination will get you far. They always bounce back when faced with adversity.

2.What advice would you give to someone needing to find their inner fierceness?

Really get to know yourself and who you are, what you like, what you don’t like etc. – this shows you have a standard and if people come along and try and walk over you and make you change they won’t be able to. Trust your gut instinct. Don’t be afraid to spend time alone. Know that it’s ok not to do what everyone else does. Most importantly, be kind to yourself!

GEE

1. What makes me feel powerful?

knowing that I have control of my life and I can do whatever I put my mind to.

2. Three women who I look up to

I feel like I answer this the same every time I’m asked a question like this

but my first person would be my old drama teacher who taught me that if you are passionate about something to shout it as loud as you can from the rooftops and never stop because someone else thinks it’s stupid.

Secondly my cousin who honestly has had some pretty bad luck over the years but stands tall and fights through it all

Lastly Megan Jayne Crabbe @bodyposipanda_ because I just think it’s incredible that someone has such an amazing personality and mindset and is promoting something I truly believe in.

3. My advice for finding your inner fierceness would be:

to understand that no matter what you are feeling and whatever is stopping you from being fierce, if you truly believe in yourself and work hard you will achieve all you want to. I feel like when I’m having a small moment where I am not at my best I go back to a quote from one of my favourite films the breakfast club where they say “spend a little more time trying to make something of yourself and a little less time trying to impress people. “ I think that’s so true, it’s so important to make sure that you are focused on what you want to do.

Don’t let Instagram define who you are

I love Instagram as much as the next person but what I really can’t stand is when someone compares themselves to an instagram feed. After all it’s a bunch of somebody else’s pictures they’ve uploaded – maybe edited them to their liking and to fit in with their theme.

You may know this instagrammer personally or you may not of even met. Either way please do not compare yourself to someone else’s life. Whether that’s how it is or that’s how they want to portray it. You have your own life and own mind and your own feed to post real things that make you happy to look back at.

I would rather people who visited my instagram were left with a warm feeling of how one of my pictures helped them in some way – i love to write a little positivity with my pictures or a funny story.

Don’t be a sheep and follow be a flamingo. Stand tall and stand out because of just being you.
