How to be honest with yourself

First of all you need to sit down somewhere quiet where you are not going to be easily distracted…if you can’t do total silence have some soft acoustic music in the background.

Right here goes – You are going to thank me for this advice one day in the not so near future. I’ve took a leaf out of my own book and started doing these same things.

Get a pen and paper do columns for  the areas of your life you want to concentrate on. For example: Your career, friendships/relationships, your home life, goals for yourself etc..

th8o2baq67

Ask yourself these same questions for all the categories you have written.

  • – Is it making me happy/sad ?
  • – Am I pleasing me or someone else?
  • – Is this going to benefit me in the long run?
  • – How can I improve the situation?
  • – Do I need to bin it and move on?

So after you’ve done that you will have more or less a detailed pros and cons list and hopefully you can look at it and see what area needs to come first and be worked on.

Don’t feel like you are being hard on yourself you are helping better yourself and be that person that’s not walked over or belittled but the person who has their shit together and doesn’t let negative vibes  put a dampener on anything.

My Top 5 Spot Treatments

I have suffered with bad skin right from the age of 11 so I have tried quite an number of things on the market to try and combat them. Sometimes they just won’t budge on their own that’s when some spot treatment comes in handy. So I went nosing in my skincare basket and found the ones I generally keep going back to.

The Body Shop –Tea Tree Anti Imperfection Daily Solution and Flawless BB Cream

15970788_10154997789649479_116330210_n

This is the one I am using at the moment and would recommend it over and over again. it has made my skin come back to normal after a horrendous monthly breakout. It has a pipette to get just the right amount. Tea tree helps dry up the spot and diminish it too. Then on days when I don’t want to put a full coverage make up I use The Body shops Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream in the shade fair. it doesn’t clog up your pores and helps your skin heal at the same time.

Simple Spotless Skin Anti-blemish Moisturiser

15970186_10154997789499479_472809780_n

This moisturiser is best applied at the beginning of the day to let it soak into your skin and carry on working throughout the day. With the calming agent of Chamomile and Zinc your face will thank you for treating it with such kindness. It is also antibacterial so it will fight off against any other unwanted dirt particles wanting to get a load of your face.

Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Blemish Stick

15978509_10154997789369479_1267677668_n

This is one of the older products I have for my spots and it is just handy to put in your handbag when you are off for the day/evening and you can’t carry too much in your bag. I don’t think it gets rid of your spots as fast as you may like them too but it does help them clear up/dry them out.

Garnier Pure Action -2 in 1 Anti-spot Roll on

15942207_10154997789189479_483991302_n-2

When you team this anti- spot roll on with The Body Shop BB Cream it works lovely as it has a concealer like texture and aids skins recovery too. I was dubious if this one would cover spots as it was in a roll on but it does.

That’s my Top 5 Spot Treatments…when you get in a spot of bother I hope one of these may help you too.

My Exercise Routine

Some of you may know I suffer with a few chronic illnesses. If you didn’t you do now. Sometimes it stops me from doing my every day tasks and sometimes it says go ahead knock yourself out… literally.

Anyway I have always tried since I got ill to do a bit of exercise since I can’t do the gym anymore like I used to so here’s a look at what I’m incorporating into my exercise routine throughout the week.

SIT UPS

I can’t do more than 5 full sit ups without getting knackered but this awesome Smart Wonder Core Multi Gym let’s me do at least 20 on a good day you can change the resistance on it to work yourself a bit harder or go easy which I like. You can use it on any part of your body but I use it for my tummy.

YOGA

I have always loved doing a spot of yoga…still need ALOT of practice but it really zones you out and you just need to concentrate on what you’re doing and forget the worries you’ve got that’s what I do. I have been following a yoga routine on YouTube: Yoga With Adrienne. She has so many different videos for different parts of your life you need help with and I do this daily if I can.

HULA HOOPING

I have had a hula hoop for a few years and in the summer I’d get it out in the garden and fool about with it but I have a few friends that are really good at it and share videos online and it has made me want to take hula hooping a bit more serious. So I’ll be starting right from the beginning and fingers crossed I can report back that I’ve managed to do at least one…ha ha.

Here’s my hoop and I found this lady Deanne Love earlier this week so I’m hoping her videos will be beneficial.

and here is one of my outfits I wear in the comfort of my own home.

I don’t aim to be skinny just get my womanly curves back and enjoy doing it at the same time.

Stand Up Saturday: No means No (a personal story)

First of all this is a personal post so what I am about to tell you now actually happened to me and I never want anyone to have to go through it.

Ok here goes….This was about 8 years ago but still fresh in my memory.

I was going out with this lad i had known him for years, dated before actually. i reckon we were about 9 months into the relationship and we had gone out for a meal and a few drinks (in a restaurant) so no plans on getting drunk.

During the meal he had a message from his friends asking if we wanted to go and meet them for an hour before they travelled back to where they lived. Seemed like a plan so off we toddled arm in arm down the road to the pub.

When we got there his friends were nowhere to be seen and their phone was switched off. He had the hump on. I just wanted to get on home and get in my pjs with him and watch some slushy DVD.  So when we got home to mine we headed on upstairs as my parents were downstairs still. I reckon i must of dozed off half way through watching the DVD because when I woke up my boyfriend was straddled over me, i said to him what the hell do you think you are doing….he ignored me and carried on trying to enter me….Get the fuck off me I said in rage. He wasn’t stopping and i couldn’t move. He was taking advantage of me without me saying he could and he was being rough with it too. I had never seen this side to him. it wasn’t the alcohol he had only had 2 shandys. I  led there and cried into my pillow so my parents didn’t hear. He just turned over and went to sleep like nothing happened.

I couldn’t bear to look at him I was disgusted that he gave me no respect and that he wasn’t being the caring bloke he always had been. I felt like i couldn’t just sweep it under the carpet and carry on so i told him i wanted to finish with him.

He kept on questioning why and didn’t see he did anything wrong. To this day he probably still thinks he wasn’t in the wrong but he damn was.

No matter whether they are your boyfriend or not

If you haven’t said you want to have sex with them and they proceed its pretty much rape.

Please do not suffer in silence if this has ever happened to you it took me ages to confide in someone and i wish i’d done it sooner.

Foodie Friday: Now that’s what I call Great British Food

Living in England all my life I can honestly say that I love our British food and enjoy it whenever I can. I am actually one of those people thats been to an Indian Restaurant and had Ham, Egg and Chips. I know shame on me.

So little me went for a nosey on the internet to find some examples and here’s what I came up with.

By the looks of it we area nation who love our potatoes…

xxSausage and mash with Onion Gravy

Cottage or Shepherds Pie

Sunday Roast Dinner

Fish and Chips and Mushy Peas

Our puddings always seem to be rather fruity but truly scrumptious.

Strawberry Trifle

Rhubarb and raspberry crumble

Victoria Sponge

Scones, cream and strawberries 🍓

and last but not least we have these two which let’s face it go hand in hand.

Tea and an assortment of biscuits 🍪  very British indeed.

Tip Tuesday: How to organise your make up like a pro in 3 easy steps

I thought I would get all creative and it didn’t cost me a penny because I had all of it at home.

If you want to recreate this you will need

  • A whiteboard
  • Sellotape sticky fixers
  • Your make up

  • Make sure whiteboard is clean
  • Peel off sticky fixers and apply to your chosen make up item
  • Arrange it on your board to your liking

There you go… you now have it a beauty organiser that is personal to you.
I nearly forgot to mention I added a magnetic strip for my bobby pins

Here is mine. I obviously couldn’t stick large bits on like my foundation but I love  how it looks.

Social Sunday: Must Try Apps

I love a good app on my phone or laptop and I thought to start off my daily blogging I would share a few of my favourites that I highly recommend.

Ok so first off is one that I use probably the most after all the social media ones.

MOLDIV

15778348_10154960880159479_332927718_o-1

I will hold my hand up and say i do like a good old photo edit and MOLDIV definitely ticks all the boxes when it comes to making your picture that bit more perfect.

I love how when editing your photo you can also crop it down so it’s the right size to use on Instagram or as a Facebook profile picture. There are over 150 filters to suit any colour scheme you are going for and you can tweak them a bit too. If you haave an annoying spot or those dark circles that you just cant shift with make up MOLDIV to the rescue. The collage aspect of it is amazing too it gives you so many options of how you want your pics..

CLUE

15820385_10154960879289479_237953719_n

This ones for the ladies so if you are a man move on to the next one. I have been using CLUE for about 3 months and i think its great and super helpful.

15782816_10154961119739479_1830948386_n

So let me briefly talk you through it. CLUE tracks your menstrual cycle/your period and all the bits in between. The first day of  your period arrives and you want to keep a track of how heavy it is or how you are feeling to look back at it for future months this is just the app for you. I was a bit like WTF at first but i think its fab now. Also if you are trying to get pregnant it also lets you know when your fertile days are.  You get a little alert to let you know you are due on in the next few days just incase you forgot to get supplies in like chocolate obviously 🙂

SPLICE

15785533_10154960880099479_1523444693_o

  2. The filter you want if you aren’t happy with the original.
  3. The time that you want each slide to be between each other ( up to 10 secs)
  4. Here you can add text and chose font and the colour too.
  5. To position your slide to be in view if not it will zoom out (so enable the ken burns function) who is he? i have no idea.

Lastly….

ONENOTE

15823884_10154960878804479_1001991507_o

If you haven’t heard of this app where have you been? its one of the best for organising and is relatively easy to use. I click on to this one pretty much every day.

As you can see here i have made examples of how you can use it.

  1. Note Taking…whether its some lyrics you got going round in your head or an email address you can’t forget.
  2. To do lists with a tick off box too which i love and a voice message function too.
  3. add a photo that you love or if you have some words to put with it ONENOTE lets you do it all.

I forgot to add these are all FREE.

Sorry its been a long one I got a bit carried away….
