Hi, I’m Em. After not reading much for the past few years I decided to set myself a challenge for 2019. This challenge was to read 25 books in the year. So far at the time of writing this, we are 8 months in I am on 79 books. My blog is a place where I review and talk everything books. I’m fairly new to it (couple of months) but I’m really enjoying it and am starting to trail new ideas.
A few facts about me:
– I own (currently) over 640 books
– I have not read Harry Potter yet, hopefully this will change soon (please don’t hate me)
– I mainly only buy second hand books
My name is Paige. I am 20 years and about to go into my second year at Brunel university for creative writing. I’ve had a blog since 2016 but recently completely rebranded to what it is now. I am a makeup lover and am hoping to start up makeup business of my own at some point this year. I also love reading and am in the process of writing my own novel.
I’m speaking from past experiences but doesn’t January just put you out of sorts. Literally at the stroke of midnight New Year’s Eve and bam 💥 you’re in another month…another year nonetheless and I know some people just hate change. It’s like you are expected to put on a happy face and celebrate…
Don’t be ashamed, it’s ok to feel underwhelmed.
Here are 10 things to do to help you feel a little more happier if only a little bit
Write down 5 things that immediately bring a smile to your face
Eat your favourite meal – whether you cook it or order it in
Look through photos that hold great memories
Give yourself a little pampering – you’re worth it
Give your bedroom/living space a makeover
Phone a friend and just chat – it’s good to talk
Make yourself a playlist of music that gets your heart singing as well as you
Order yourself a few items of clothing, It’s surprising how much of a difference it can make to your mood
Get writing. Whatever is on your mind write it down, it’s s great form of self reflection and therapy.
Plan a day/evening out with a friend or family member. It’ll do you good to let your hair down.
Look at January like this it’s half way through the month now. You’ve made it this far. So take it day by day and appreciate the littlest things that do make you grin.

I know so many people live for the weekends and every day they wake up they are wishing its Friday.
As I’m writing this it’s Monday. Some think it’s the worst day ever when in fact it’s a good day when you look at it like this…
Find something that makes you smile every day and you’ll never have a miserable day again. Ok maybe you’ll have the odd off day. I make sure i laugh at least once a day cos i truly believe it’s the best medicine.
