What are you writing about?

From when you were small and you learnt to write your name….

Little did you know that you would be writing your whole life.

Though we all use writing differently.

If you are reading my blog and you blog too then you have a talent with your writing, or if you are an author I take my hat off to you too.

These 3 books play an important role in my life.

This is my journal where I write down whatever comes into my head I think is worth writing down and looking back at.

This one is where I see all the self care tips and those hacks and such like I put them in here so I know when I need some encouragement it’s in here.

Finally this is where I write all my ideas for blog ideas and of course my future book when I get round to writing it.

I write pretty much all the time as I adore it so much.

Be the real you and stay true

So you are sat there in the tub, not feeling to great about yourself, about your self worth or self esteem. It has been knocked down by someone on social media.

Whilst nosing through your feed you notice that certain people are getting more likes on their pictures and you may think well i put in just as much effort in mine and i don’t seem to get half as much engagement. Feels like a kick in the teeth for all your hard work.

Please don’t sit there in a bad mood. It really isn’t the end of the world, give yourself 5 minutes of angry time and take these tips from me and use them each time you feel yourself not feeling worth it.

If you take my advice you wont ever get a down day again when it comes to scrolling through social media.

Don’t be a miserable cow

I have came across a fair few miserable cows in my lifetime and I’ve of course been one.

There are some things that get you in a foul mood and everything else just irritates the hell out of you.

But there’s no reason to bite everyone’s head off that comes into contact with you.

So do what i do / did this morning as i woke up on the wrong side of the bed…technically it was the right side as the beds pushed against the wall

  • Have your favourite thing for breakfast – mine was a cheesy crumpet and a hot choc…i know, i’m weird.
  • Put on a playlist that will have you singing from the time the music starts…sing loud and proud until the neighbours complain or your windows break.
  • Put the thing that’s made you angry on a piece of paper and then rip it up and bin it. Works a treat i’m telling you.
  • Get your laughing gear working…call a friend who makes you laugh or arrange to meet up. I always say laughter is the best medicine.
i am going to look for that 70s show now see if i can find all the episodes i loved watching it back in the day

If you don’t wish to have a frown lines on your forehead and a face that would turn milk sour then cheer the fook up.

Reinventing Yourself

When I say reinvent yourself I don’t mean make yourself into someone else / someone who will be totally unrecognisable to your friends & family.

I mean changing a few things in life to make it better for you and make you happier in the process.

❤️ Give your style a overhaul if you feel like your in a slump. I know that I need to do that as my wardrobe is a mish mash of all sorts.

❤️ If your hair colour has been the same or the length of your hair is getting you down give it a bit of life and treat yourself. It’s amazing how a hair app can alter you completely. I’m growing my hair but once I’m healed from surgery I’m definitely going to treat myself to a colour.

❤️ Re-evaluate the people you have in your life that don’t make you feel good about yourself they need to go. Fill your life with inspiring people who make you feel happy everytime you see them. I have only the people who appreciate me and bring a smile to my face daily.

❤️ Changing the hobbies you have, if you had any at all to ones you’ll enjoy going to and not find them a chore. Whether it’s arts and crafts or something sporty you’ll find enjoyment in something and that’ll become your passion in life. I love writing poetry and when I’m feeling brave I sketch even though I’m not that good I find sketching therapeutic.

See just having a few changes in life can alter how you spend your days.

Prepping for my operation

I say I am not scared but deep down I’m bricking it.

So on Friday I had to go to hospital to get ‘marked up ‘ which means they get a permanent marker and draw on where they think my stoma will go to and how high I wear my trousers so this is what my tummy looks like at the mo.

On Saturday I had to have my last substantial meal but also 3 of these build up drinks called fortisips. Luckily I like the 2 flavours they gave me – Apricot and vanilla. I must say it was hard drinking them as they are like a milkshake but fill you up a lot more.

I tried to distract myself from thinking too much about it and watched a bit of eye candy on the TV – Micky Flanagan. I know he’s not your typical hunk but there’s just something about him 😍

Today’s Sunday and I’ve got to seriously get sorted because tomorrow is the day.

I have to make sure all is packed in my bag the essentials and mum said she can bring things up at a later date when I’m feeling a bit more human. I have to stop eating properly at 2pm and can have jelly and ice cream til midnight if I am hungry. The dreaded drinks I have another 6 to drink today and then 2 Monday in the morning before surgery.

I’m going to enjoy a nice soak in the shower as I dunno when I’ll be able to have my next one. I bought Bohemian Rhapsody on DVD so that’ll be tonight’s viewing before I attempt to get a bit of shut eye before my 5am wake up call.

I’ve got some scheduled blog posts for 2 weeks so I hope you’ll enjoy them.

Beat the January blues

I’m speaking from past experiences but doesn’t January just put you out of sorts. Literally at the stroke of midnight New Year’s Eve and bam 💥 you’re in another month…another year nonetheless and I know some people just hate change. It’s like you are expected to put on a happy face and celebrate…

Don’t be ashamed, it’s ok to feel underwhelmed.

Here are 10 things to do to help you feel a little more happier if only a little bit

  • Write down 5 things that immediately bring a smile to your face
  • Eat your favourite meal – whether you cook it or order it in
  • Look through photos that hold great memories
  • Give yourself a little pampering – you’re worth it
  • Give your bedroom/living space a makeover
  • Phone a friend and just chat – it’s good to talk
  • Make yourself a playlist of music that gets your heart singing as well as you
  • Order yourself a few items of clothing, It’s surprising how much of a difference it can make to your mood
  • Get writing. Whatever is on your mind write it down, it’s s great form of self reflection and therapy.
  • Plan a day/evening out with a friend or family member. It’ll do you good to let your hair down.

Look at January like this it’s half way through the month  now. You’ve made it this far. So take it day by day and appreciate the littlest things that do make you grin.
