What feels like the longest month is nearly over… Its been a roller-coaster one for me with having an op but there have been some lovely things also that have made my January be filled with smiles.
Let’s start with
MY PURPLE SUITCASE
I searched high and low for a suitcase as I needed one for all my worldly goods at the hospital, and just at the last minute I found this one for £30. It’s called a Grant carry on case if you were looking for one too. I know that if I need to spend the night away this beaut will be coming with me.
MUSIC OF THE MONTH
If you like listening to covers of songs then you may like to take a nosey at
This one I’ve picked out is actually his own I believe. He has such a lovely tone to his voice
FOOD I’M LOVING
There were these sitting on a shelf asking to be bought so I couldn’t say no.
I love white chocolate and these didn’t let the side down. Truly delicious. Hopefully I can find them again as they were from a small shop.
Whether you like a bap or bread, you got to try mushy peas on the bottom then a fishcake. Chips are optional.
I’ve always loved fishcakes since I was little but never tried this and if I feel like treating myself this will be it.
WORD OF THE MONTH
The song by Sia gave me the inspiration. I knew I had a tough end to the month, so the lyrics and that word got me through.
BOOK I RECOMMEND
If you love RuPaul or Drag Race you will love this book he bought out.
It’s full of positivity and inspirational quotes like this one for example
I love RuPaul as a person and not just as a performer.
QUOTE OF THE MONTH
This one describes me I guess and I love it when a quote speaks volumes.
I don’t know if I have mentioned in my health updates before but I have to go through another huge operation in exactly 2 months.
If you are a new reader in March of this year I had my bladder taken away. It was the bane of my life and was forever poorly with it. So I pee into a bag called a urostomy
Due to a 9 and a half hour op to get my bladder unstuck from my bowel and womb saving them before removing the useless bladder, the blood supply wouldn’t stretch up enough (they use part of your bowel to make a stoma for your wee)…crazy but clever.
So I have a stoma lower down that causes me problems still so the operation in January is to take away some of my tummy and flatten it out. I don’t have much of a muffin top but it’ll help in the long run..then they will resite my urostomy.
I have been told that it could be anything from 2 weeks to 9 weeks stay in hospital and to be prepared to maybe have a poo bag ( colostomy/ileostomy) as they are messing about with the intestine and bowel.
All the poor health and I still smile and stay positive because it’s all I know what to do in bad times.
So just a little part of my health journey and a little reflection.
October is coming to a close and November is waiting in the wings
I am quite sad October can’t go on for longer it’s my favourite month of the year
Anyways let’s get back to why we are here.
These things brought me joy this month.
Mum asked me if there was anything specific that I wanted for my birthday… Well I had seen these on ASOS and said these would be perfect (for when we in England get dry days) so this was what she got me. Normally I don’t get any named trainers but they were pink and they did half sizes so I was happy I could get them.
I think I may have mentioned these before. They are by Rowntree – the people who make fruit pastilles they make these ice lollies too.
They are so bloody yum and I think about 60 calories so don’t worry if you are on a healthy diet these would be a great pick for a treat.
SELF CARE BOOK
I got some books a couple of weeks ago as I need to get my nerd on. I’m a writer, but when it comes to books I need to try concentrate on getting it finished. This one is a self help book and at the mo it’s got 5 stars from me. It’s small enough to fit into a inside coat pocket or a handbag.
BOURJOIS LIP DUO SCULPT
Last month I went in search for a lipstick that was autumn appropriate in its shade and long lasting. The shade is like the colour of my nails. I believe in this range there’s another 2 or 3. Superdrug or boots normally have make up offers so go spoil yourself.
ROCKETMAN ON DVD
This was another thing I had for my birthday, this was from my Sister.
If you haven’t heard of it it’s a story of Elton John’s life. It was quite sad to see what he went through to get to where he is now . It did have Happy moments in it and alot of his music. So if you like films that are like musicals, you’ll love this one.
QUOTE OF THE MONTH
Not much of an explanation needed just some people are worth the second chance and some are not worth your energy.
I hope you have had a lovely October…
Feel free to leave below something that made your month
Summer is nearly over… I am actually secretly glad as I am a lover of wrapping up and all things autumn.
August has been a scorcher again and I’ve got a little tan which is a first for me
As you know my favourites posts I really look forward to writing and seeing what bought me joy that month.
Here is what I’ve been loving
CONFU FOLDING HAIRDRYER
My other hairdryer had lasted a good 4 years which is a record as I kept breaking them at one point.
I didn’t want a super powerful one as my hair is short so I saw this nifty fold up one for £25 and thought it was perfect for when you go away, and it’s rose gold too.
IPAD PENCIL (APPLE DUPE )
So I downloaded a few sketch apps and then thought I can’t do it with my fingers 🙈 silly me and a plain stylus just wasn’t cutting it. So this Apple Pencil dupe for £27 works on my iPad and also my Huawei and I believe it works on a Samsung phone too and probably an iPhone. I really do love it and I believe the actual apple pencil is £129 or there abouts. So a bargain indeed.
MILANI BIGGER LASHES MASCARA
I have been using this mascara over a few months and I have to say for £10 it’s a lot better than the likes of benefit and L’Oréal. It gives me the full lashes I want without using falsies.
WATERMELON ICE LOLLIES
I’m a sucker for a lolly. No pun intended 🙈
so when we came to do our big shop last week i saw these were on offer £1 for 4 so you can probably guess they didn’t last long.
if you like watermelon and like an ice lolly like me go pick up some of these.
QUOTE OF THE MONTH
I guess we are all one of a kind…it’s a funny but true quote.
Lastly I thought I’d include a song that I’ve loved singing along to
I mean anything that Ed sings is amazing in my eyes…. Blow is by Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars.
