What a crazy ass week

All of you will feel the same when you think is this all a nightmare that we are going to wake up from?

First of all I was meant to see my stoma nurse at the hospital Tuesday but the transport didn’t arrive to pick me up. So that was a getting hyped up to go for nothing.

Then my mate and me were meant to meet up and go on a little shopping trip and that didn’t happen.

I did however manage to go speeding along on my electric wheelchair and go up town with mum at the start of the week. Nice to just nosey.

Then the closure of everywhere has taken effect over the last few days so everyone is either self isolating or being cautious when they are out.

All I know there are some greedy and selfish people out there when it comes to shopping for essentials that we need and aren’t there because of carelessness of some people.

Anyway sending love and hope you are all looking after each other.

February favourites

We are two months down into 2020. To be fair Feb has seemed shorter than Jan because it is.

BEST BITS I BOUGHT

You guessed it another wig… Heat resistant and blonde and only £12. I wish the windy weather could bugger off so I can wear it without thinking its going to blow away.

The pink jumper is a newbie too courtesy of ASOS sale. It’s cropped but just the perfect size for me.

Being a stationery addict I love new finds and I stumbled across these fountain pens in different colours. I only owned a black one so I was like these are well cheap I want some. The only downside is they are non refillable.

FOOD THAT MADE ME GO MMMM

When the boyf comes over we kind of find ourselves going to McDonalds at some point over the weekend. I have been opting for these mozzarella sticks. Before trying these I’d never eaten that type of cheese. They are bloody nice.

While in wilkos the other day I was just looking for a little bit of choc to nibble on for the journey home and these were there smiling at me, so I thought I’d be friendly and take them on. They are different to any m and m varieties I’ve ever tried but I’d definitely buy them again if we crossed paths again.

MUSIC I HAVE BEEN SINGING ALONG TO

This album will never get old even though the film is 20 years old…that makes me feel well old saying it like that 🙈

It just so happens that ITV2 showed it at the weekend so I was a happy Hol.

FILMS AND SERIES I’VE DISCOVERED AND LOVED

I have been loving watching this series on BBC Iplayer called The Split about a divorce lawyer who happens to fall in love with her co worker despite being married herself. It’s a must watch.

I watched Coming to America with Eddie Murphy back in the 1980s. Thought it was odd at the beginning but then as I got into it a bit it was so funny.

Then there was a film called You get me with Bella Thorne as the lead. It was a psychological thriller, made you think what’s she going to do next. It’s 3 years old so I expect some of you may have already been it.

MOMENTS THIS MONTH I’VE CHERISHED

Spending time with my family, the boyf and being able to do a spot of shopping.

When you don’t have to put on any front or any make up if you don’t want and they’ll think you’re wonderful all the same.

What made your February fabulous?

JANUARY FAVOURITES

What feels like the longest month is nearly over… Its been a roller-coaster one for me with having an op but there have been some lovely things also that have made my January be filled with smiles.

Let’s start with

MY PURPLE SUITCASE

I searched high and low for a suitcase as I needed one for all my worldly goods at the hospital, and just at the last minute I found this one for £30. It’s called a Grant carry on case if you were looking for one too. I know that if I need to spend the night away this beaut will be coming with me.

MUSIC OF THE MONTH

If you like listening to covers of songs then you may like to take a nosey at

Joseph Vincent

This one I’ve picked out is actually his own I believe. He has such a lovely tone to his voice

FOOD I’M LOVING

There were these sitting on a shelf asking to be bought so I couldn’t say no.

I love white chocolate and these didn’t let the side down. Truly delicious. Hopefully I can find them again as they were from a small shop.

FISHCAKE SANDWICH

Whether you like a bap or bread, you got to try mushy peas on the bottom then a fishcake. Chips are optional.

I’ve always loved fishcakes since I was little but never tried this and if I feel like treating myself this will be it.

WORD OF THE MONTH

‘Unstoppable’

The song by Sia gave me the inspiration. I knew I had a tough end to the month, so the lyrics and that word got me through.

BOOK I RECOMMEND

If you love RuPaul or Drag Race you will love this book he bought out.

It’s full of positivity and inspirational quotes like this one for example

I love RuPaul as a person and not just as a performer.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

This one describes me I guess and I love it when a quote speaks volumes.

What have you enjoyed this month?

The January Blues

It’s 2 weeks since Christmas and when all was merry and it was all about celebrations.

Now we are heading for the middle of January and a New year may not sit well with some people.

The weather is pretty dismal, the nights are still starting at half 4 🙈

Although we can’t click our fingers and magic it better instantly, we can try and do little bits to make us happier.

* Find some happy music, make a playlist of all your feel good songs. Play it loud, feel it on your soul.

* When you get a little bit of a dry day, take advantage of it. Perfect opportunity to take yourself for a walk, or to the shops for a nosey. Fresh air is good and nature on your walk is beautiful. Appreciate the little things.

* Have a mass sort out. Decluttering is so therapeutic. Throw out all the stuff you no longer need. Then organise what you’re keeping and you’ll have satisfaction when it’s all done.

* Make a conscious effort to fuel your body when you are having low times as it gives you strength. I sound like my Mother now. Make some of your favourite meals.

* Take that bath before bed, or a bit of pampering. It’ll relax you and I believe that a bit of self love is an instant feel good factor.

Well there’s a little list of things to get rid of your blues… Hopefully.

10 years ago to now

Let’s take you back 10 years to the year 2009.

That January I had started the year with a hurting heart from being dumped just after Christmas. Turned out the bloke was a right dickhead.

I had lost a bit of weight in 2009 too after having my gallbladder out a few months before, so I was about 8 and a half stone.

Mum and me were also searching for a house as we had sold our house and needed to find one fast to move into. It was part of her divorce so decided to look for rented property. Just after Christmas that year we found it and moved in there in the Jan of 2010.

So now it’s the end of 2019 and wow what a year its been.

I started the year having my bladder out, and having a stoma, which has been quite a problematic thing so more surgery is needed soon.

I have found out who I really am, with my spirituality, my sexuality (I will fall in love with whoever I find attractive regardless of gender … Simple as that) and found out how strong I can be in shitty situations.

I’ve lost a friend I thought would always have my back, her loss. But also gained a really awesome friend she was in my year at school and I’m so glad to have her in my life as she makes me laugh so much and it feels like we’ve been good friends since like forever.

A decade ago

So this is a funny looking back kind of post.

So here’s some photos from that year 2009

Top left is my mate Johnny, middle left is my brother, bottom left is my best friend from school Soph.

Top right is my sister, then middle right is me on a night out and bottom right is school friend Katie.

Of course a throwback post has to have a playlist so this one has a few absolute bangers

I have to cringe at the next thing… Some Facebook statuses.

Clearly I was a little bit horned up. The two men were colin Firth and Hugh Grant. In my dreams 😂

My FMB boots, back then knee highs or over the knee boots were called fuck me boots. Funny I know.

I am positive in one of my girly mags I had read that fact about multiple sneezes were the same feelings of an orgasm. Maybe for some people but a sneeze for me has never felt like an orgasm ha ha.

10 years ago… when I was 24 I didn’t have a care in the world. Still lived at home until 2 years later… That’s when I really grew up.

I like looking back at my memories especially when you can have a laugh and reminisce.
