Then I just smile

This is a tired me, but so glad I got my smile back.

You see I went through school with braces on… No pictures to prove as I hated these metal things what I couldn’t remove so I shyed away from the camera.

Then a few years ago my dentist at the time seriously buggered up big time

So my teeth went from this pic above which look quite normal….

To this after just a check up and hygienist visit i was fuming

So they closed it up doing something called a bridge. Then after a year or so it started to go a bit grey on my right front tooth… So I enquired… You will have to have root canal they said.

So that was about 2 months ago and it totally killed my tooth so today I had my permanent crown on and it doesn’t look like it isn’t my actual tooth.

So the pic you saw at the start is a smile of thank fook for that as I lost my confidence to show my teeth. Now I can all I like.

That’s my little update.

Beautiful them beautiful me

I just wanted to do a quick post today.

I could look at these two pics I have of Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe and compare the shit out of how beautiful they are and how so many people including myself think they are the ultimate beauty icon, Which they are.

But instead I look at this pic and see the beauty in myself, maybe not perfect but I appreciate all that I am even when my skin is not flawless like theirs I can still be as beautiful as I want to feel.

Ok, so i guess you have stumbled across something like this before on the net where you write a letter to your significant other to open at certain times in their life.

Well you know me i like do do things a bit differently so this is my DIY i’m setting myself and i’ll share the first letter with you in a min.

It’s writing letters to yourself. It’s not weird…its really taking care of you, and when you need that bit of guidance or to be perked up reach for that certain letter in your pack.

you can look at pinterest for inspiration or get it right from the heart. There is no right or wrong way.

So here is my first one…

You kind of get the jist of it right? It’s to pick you up when you need it the most.

It’ll be great if some of you decide to do this.

Self care is the best care

Self care is not just all about putting on a face mask and pampering yourself, but my goodness doesn’t that sound like a great idea.

Self care is about taking care of you as a whole and making sure you are being kind to every part of you inside and out.

I’ve come up with a list of things to do on days when you need that extra more care and attention…mind, body and soul.

So here goes

  • Unplug your phone/ put it on do not disturb for an hour or two just let your mind just be
  • put on some relaxing music whether it’s acoustic or panpipes or just instrumental just enjoy the sounds.
  • Do a brain dump – grab a notebook and just unload what’s in your head onto one page it’ll help clear your head.
  • write poetry/ song. You will find it so therapeutic.
  • light some scented candles or diffuse essential oils. Get your area smelling serene.
  • Find an app to destress you I think insight app is great. A must try.
  • self massage, the bits you can get to just add moisture to it with either baby oil or a body lotion. Make your body feel loved.
  • Practise positive affirmations whether you say them out loud on in your head it will keep you in a positive mindset.
  • Do some yoga or some form of stretching, you’ll find that this will get rid of any tension built up inside.
  • Take a nap if needs be, it’s will renew your energy and get you in the mood to take on anything the day has in store for you
  • Make yourself a self care box of all things you love and that make you smile. If it fits put it in there.
  • Just enjoy your own company doing what ever your heart desires whether it’s watching a movie, eating your favourite food or singing along to your favourite songs.

Dare to bare all

I heard on the radio today is world naked gardening day but since I don’t do gardening I thought I’d chat about just being naked.

SLEEPING IN THE BUFF

For me personally until it’s baking hot in the summer I’m fully wrapped up in bed. If you have a significant other then their body heat keeps you warm so that’s another story. Then you have making love, whether you keep on a top or bare all.

WALKING ABOUT THE HOUSE NAKEE

Admittedly if the curtains and blinds are shut it’s the most freeing feeling and keeping in mind who’s about in your house and if they are comfortable with you in nothing but your birthday suit.

POSING FOR THE CAMERA IN THE NUDDY

If you are into modeling or if you want to have some photos just for you/your partner with your bare skin on show I don’t see what’s wrong as long as you keep them private as they could end up with the wrong eyes seeing them.

BEING STARKERS IN PUBLIC / NATURIST

Well obviously you just can’t walk down the road starkers as you would get arrested, but there’s naturist places where people can feel free in their bareness and then there are also nudist beaches to sun yourself with no white bits at all. It’s something I’m curious about but don’t think I’d ever have the balls in front of strangers.

So there you are a totally different subject to what I usually write about but you know me, don’t mind stepping out of my comfort zone.

Loving you is easy cos your beautiful

I want you to really digest what I’m about to say.

We all have had those days when we really can’t stand to look at ourselves in the mirror, we don’t feel pretty in the slightest.

Do you know what?

We are human and having a down day is very normal.

But I want you to really think about the person that you are inside and out.

  • I want you to love all that you are, flaws and all. There’s not another you out there.
  • Take compliments on board, I know when I give someone a compliment I truly mean it and don’t just go round saying it for fun.
  • Have daily mantras that you can either say out loud or to yourself (for example yes I can) click here for a list of ones you can use
  • Give yourself a pep talk on the bad days and remind yourself you are good enough and you are worth it.
  • When you ooze self confidence you will feel a sense of happiness in life and your wellbeing will totally alter. Going from self conscious to self confidence will take time but you will feel the benefits of it.

Don’t ever doubt your worth, and don’t let anybody tell you you are anything less than fabulous.
