April Monthly Favourites

0

Apart from the few days of sunny sunshine here are some of my favourite bits.

FAVOURITE SONG

You know one of those songs that come on the radio or is recommended on a Spotify playlist and you think I really like this song. Well this one by Lissa Lo called All I need is one of those. I’ve got the chorus as my ringtone as I don’t like your bog standard ones 🙈

FAVOURITE FOOD

These have always been a fave but particularly this month. Needed a pick me up and they were there for me

FAVOURITE QUOTE

We worry so much about things that have happened and realistically we can’t do anything about so this quote says it all.

FAVOURITE MOMENTS

As I’m still healing from having my bladder removed I’ve not really ventured very far but I did manage one day with mum to go down town in the wheelchair and spend some cash.

I got a few toiletries in boots – make up can wait, then went and got some pjs in Peacocks and some undies. On our way home there is a St Margarets Hospice charity shop so we decided to have a nosey. I got about 6 or 7 items which I’ll show you once the weather’s warmer. I always like to give my unwanted clothes to them as that was the hospice my brother was at.

Little victories this month 😊

Oooo and I managed some chips from the chippy since my appetite has been a bit pants this was a real treat.

What’s been your faves this month?

Its been a long long road

My day started at 7am the alarm went off. I said sod off to it twice before i got out.

Today is one long ass day i have a hospital appointment which is 2 and a half hours away. So i downloaded this playlist on Spotify for the journey. I grew up in the 90s so thought it was quite apt

So mum and me started our journey up there at 9:30. There was a lady who literally told the bus her life story we all couldn’t stop laughing. She was quite comical. She got off at the city before so we had a bit of piece and quiet for the rest of the way there.

So it was a double decker and as you can imagine there’s less space at the bottom. I was sat backwards because I’m in the wheelchair so i couldn’t give up my seat. 3/4 of the bus were OAPs so also couldn’t give theirs up either. So this old lady with a trolley had another older lady on her lap. It was so bad but she was smiling away. Luckily it was only 10 mins for her.

My appointment for the hospital wasn’t until 3:30 so we went to Debenhams and had a spot of lunch and a little bit of retail therapy but it wasn’t half hot.

So the verdict of my appointment is to try some tablets and if in 6 weeks there is no improvement tests will be taken on my bladder and possible bladder enlargement. But its a big operation like my stoma was so I’d rather not go down that route unless its totally necessary.

After getting on the first bus we got on to go home the bus driver couldn’t get back into his driving seat after putting the ramp down for me. His door lock was wedged. There was a spare bus but to be honest it’s not much better. It keeps overheating but fingers crossed it’ll get me and mum home by 8pm tonight.

I’ll sign off for now. Lets just say i can’t wait for my bed.

The Week Ahead

2

Looking back on the week we just had…

On Tuesday I took Mum out for a meal as she had to work all day on her birthday Wednesday. The diet went out the window as we made little piggies of ourselves. It was lovely and then we walked home which hopefully burnt off the yummy banoffee cheesecake.

On the hottest day (Friday) i suggested to Mum it was too nice to stay in or around our neck of the woods and maybe we should jump on the bus and go shopping. We came back with some lovely things. 2 baths were definitely needed to cool down when we got home.

The weekend was quiet apart from the enormous thunderstorm early hours of sat mornings.

This week I don’t really have anything planned so I’m going to see where it takes me and report back. I hope you all have a fantastic week 🌸

The answer is always Shopping

You know when you have had one of the worst days, nothings gone right and no matter what you try to do to put it right works out either. Well that’s when Retail therapy comes in very handy. You needn’t sit in a therapists chair telling them all your woes for an hour you could be in a shop or five. Nobody to say so how do you feel about that. Once you get in that shop it will be i feel fabulous… what woes?

There is never a wrong time to go shopping. The shops in town are shut…That’s ok, grab your phone or laptop enable Wi-Fi and away you go. Getting lost on the wonderful online shops for hours on end. Putting things on wish lists and in baskets and then finally deciding sod it, lets have it all.

17eadfa97ef55d421bb82ef8dc79b54eThere is the annoying bit where you have to wait in most of the day for your parcel to arrive but when it does and you are there opening it its like a present to yourself. It instantly makes you happy of course until it doesn’t fit and then the fun of shopping starts all over again.

So if your ever feeling a little or a lot bit shite, go off shopping and by the end of it I can assure you you’ll be feeling alright 🙂
