How i love to look back on happy memories of the times i had. Today i thought i’d focus on the Summer since its sunny outside and Summer is nearly here.
So growing up on our estate there was more boys than girls, so we would try and fit in with the boys and play football or go on the skateboards. Until we fell over and hurt ourselves. Course i’d blame it on them. Why couldn’t they of done something a bit more girl friendly.
So i do remember spending my summers down by the river at the bottom of our local playing field. What bonehead thought that would be a great place for a playing field next to a river. A few kids had fell in over the years, luckily it wasn’t that deep. Our Parents were oblivious we were down there as it was out of bounds but that was the excitement of it.
As i got older i’d either be found with my friends on bike rides or scraping my knees in my roller skates.
This was one of the bikes i owned and i cried when i was too big for it, i guarded that with my life as Mum and Dad said it was a lot of money.
I was a girly girl and still am one. There’s no getting away from it that as i got to 13/14 we would spend our afternoons looking at the fitties at the tennis courts pretending to casually walk past and hanging out at the parks hoping to find our Mr right. He wasn’t gonna be at some run down park, but back then we were so naive.
Then in my late teens and early twenties it was big bottles of WKD before a night on the razz (piss) and a thick head most sunday mornings. The beer gardens were great for the hair of the dog on the sunday. But how life changes as soon as you decide to grow up.
This summer i am going to try and keep sunburnt free, just catch the odd freckle when the sun decides to kiss me.
We are so lucky to have this lovely sunshine in the UK and we all love to visit the beach to make the most of it, and top up our tans.
I bring you this beautiful Peacock paradise designer swimsuit by Delores Cortes which i was kindly sent to feature on my social media platforms from ukswimwear
It is a top Spanish brand in swimwear and to give you my honest opinion i wouldn’t usually pick such a colourful costume. When i saw this one on the website i thought it stood out and would go really nice with my hair colour and my skin tone. I wasn’t wrong. I really like how it looks.
I wanted something i could feel comfortable in as i spend most of the time in a wheelchair and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s so very well made. As you can see it’s low at the back, i myself have a few lumps and bumps here and there but it holds you in all in the right places.
Bear in mind it comes up small as it comes from Spain and is different sizing to the UK.
I am usually a size 12 but decided to go for a 14 just to be on the safe side and it fits a treat.
I definitely recommend having a nose on the ukswimwear website as there are swimming costumes to suit any budget. They do bikinis, kaftans and cover-ups too.
But please remember a swimsuit isn’t just for the summer it’s for all year round.
Its a week late but i thought I’d write about it anyways.
Last Friday evening my friend Lee who I’ve known absolute ages phoned and said did i want to go to the beach with him…that’ll be lovely i said.
So off we toddled in his car to a beach down on the coast called Lyme Regis. On the way there Lee was getting anxious as his petrol was low and thought we may get stranded. Luckily there was one that was 20 mins from closing and we filled up there.
Finally we arrived and the sun was still out. I got as close as i could to see a decent enough view of the sea. It was lovely and calm.
I have no idea who those two are but sitting on those pebbles can’t be comfy.
We stopped in this little seaside shop that was selling fudge and me having a sweet tooth couldn’t resist. Lee treated us both to some and because it was starting to rain we got in the car and parked as near as we could to the sea front to still enjoy the experience.
So we sat there chatting watching the rain bounce off the windscreen and see the lights across the sea as it got dark quite quickly when it started to rain. We listened to this playlist nearly all the way through before making our way back.
Can’t beat a bit of cheese especially witb your friend. We laughed at a few of them and said oh my i was this old when this song came out. Even though it wasn’t a day at the beach like most people have i really enjoyed it.
For someone who is always freezing cold as i suffer with poor circulation, its uncomfortably hot.
We are so lucky at the moment that us English are having this heatwave, as we rarely have a good summer…maybe a few days and that’s it
Hands up who really wants a spot of rain or a storm to break it up?
I know i bloody do.
It’s like as soon as the weather changes you go off eating normal meals and just snack or have salads or barbeque food. The alcohol gets consumed more to cool you down and because you can enjoy a beer garden somewhere.
I guess we shouldn’t moan and just appreciate good weather when we have it.
I’m sorry my blog posts have been a bit hit and miss at the moment I promise once it cools down I’ll be back into the swing of it
As the sun positions himself in the sky it’s a nice time to just appreciate its beauty, not just for how hot it is but how it looks…
This pic was a fluke I just aimed it and hoped for the best because I’m not that silly to look directly at it I like my sight too much.
It was lucky the other day when we briefly had some sun I found out some summer dresses from the previous year. So a sundress was a lovely thing to be wearing on this glorious bank holiday weekend. I am currently sat in our back garden enjoying the sunshine. Excuse the awkward pose I couldn’t see my screen. Oh and thats my thumb i don’t have barn door ears.
What is a lovely summers day without a cracking playlist courtesy of Spotify. If you have been following my blog some time you know I love a bit of nostalgia so I picked this summer throwback playlist. My neighbours probably wondered who was singing like a cat pissing in a biscuit tin…one of my Mums sayings ha ha.
We have all different tulips in our flower bed but this one is one of my favourites it’s two-tone and we used to have these when I was younger in our old house. I will have to find a pic of little old me stood by them. I love the summer when there’s loads of pretty flowers but not when hayfever appears periodically.
